We are looking for a smart and motivated individual to focus on the go-to-market (GTM) success of our industry products at Salesforce.com. The role is a hybrid of business strategy and sales operations found in traditional technology companies – featuring a mix of strategic planning, business analysis, sales optimization, project management and business operations.
The individual in this role will share responsibility for driving the continued success of Salesforce.com by supporting our new and existing industry product growth strategy. They will work on global projects across products and partner with leaders across functions. Deliverables take the form of recommendations on go-to-market strategy, bookings forecasts, market prioritization and customer segmentation. Operationally, the focus will be on program managing new product launches, forecasting, market sizing and trend analysis, business performance tracking, and formulation of actionable recommendations. The successful candidate will regularly brief executives and own various cross-functional initiatives. Ideally, this person will feel comfortable interacting with senior management on a regular basis.
This role does not have direct reports but will be expected to lead a variety of projects with their associated teams. You must be able to build trusted relationships across the product organization and partner with leaders across sales, marketing, operations and finance.
Responsibilities
• Build strong relationships across cross-functional groups including product, operations, finance, sales, and marketing
• Work closely with product leadership on day-to-day operations, key projects and strategic planning
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and GTM leadership to develop comprehensive
quarterly/yearly sales plans, including actions needed to realize growth objectives
• Design and interpret key performance metrics; develop and action on plans to address identified weaknesses
• Develop and execute GTM plans involving cross-functional stakeholders to ensure products achieve growth
• Guide product and marketing leaders through new product introductions
• Perform thorough analysis to support any recommendations with data
• Build executive presentations, crafting the messages of sales, marketing and product leadership
Required Skills/Experience:
• BS/BA required; MBA a plus, but not required
• 10+ years of work experience in strategic sales/business operations or management consulting, with strong exposure to product go-to-market.
• Industry expertise preferred, focused in Financial Services, Health Care, Retail and
Manufacturing
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication
• Strong project coordination skills and desire to improve processes
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, develop solutions
• Results-oriented, self-starter, and a high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand
• Strong executive presence and engagement skills
• Highly collaborative style and team player
• Flexibility and ability to re-prioritize to new demands; sense of urgency
