Senior Director, Controllership - Expedia Partner Solutions (EPS)

A senior finance opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic Finance team within Expedia Partner Services (EPS). Reporting directly to the CFO and a member of the EPS finance leadership team, the role holder will be responsible for the EPS controllership function spanning: Controllership, Financial Operations, Compliance and Governance. This role will be pivotal in crafting the controllership function to meet the future needs of EPS.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead three direct reports and a team of 30+ FTE in total you will guide the subject matter experts on financial control optimization, financial operations accuracy, governance excellence and effective financial compliance
• Provide effective leadership for business as usual delivery
• Develop your teams in the operational delivery of accounting projects & initiatives supporting business growth and development
• Look at the projects/problems for moving the fast-moving business and bring expertise on solutions and the impact they will have on the problems looking to be solutioned
• Support the team in driving innovation to build sustainable controllership processes, enabling the business to continue to scale, at the same time eliminating undue process and control risk
• Play a meaningful role in supporting the EPS compliance and governance team to evolve the compliance framework so that we maintain robust and nimble governance as the business grows and matures at pace
• Keen eye for detail and astute problem solving ensuring the big picture as seen today, tomorrow and in two years’ time; evolve with and the business
EXPERIENCE
• Highly responsible with a pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Skilled at canvassing opinions and alternative views which lead to creative solutions
• Inspiring and approachable as a leader of diverse teams
• Skilled thought leader for prioritization across complex and equally critical business needs
• A relationship builder able to navigate through conflict situations to ensure the most robust and pragmatic financial solution
• Consistently displaying a commercially focused business partnering mindset
• Big picture focused whilst skilled at implementing procedural change
• Qualified accountant with 15yrs PQE and minimum 2:1 degree
• Validated abilities in driving excellence in financial control
• Expert in delivering robust financial compliance which empowers businesses to operate effectively at speed whilst reducing risk
• Experienced and enthusiastic working in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments
• Someone who thrives in large, global, dynamic organizations
• A skilled people leader, passionate about developing talent
• Experience with technology/travel tech experience would be a bonus
• Skilled at working with multiple C-suite level partners
