DESCRIPTION
Amazon is looking for an exceptional Art Director to join their digital marketing team. In this role, you will be concepting and creating a variety of digital assets used to engage and attract customers on Amazon.com. You will be working alongside a global team of designers, writers, and production teams to deliver your designs.

The ideal candidate must have experience working in an iterative process and professionally accept art direction and feedback. In addition to strong design skills, a candidate must have strong organizational skills, web expertise, typographic skills, and acute attention to detail.
Responsibilities
• Concept and create merchandising and marketing campaigns that elevate Amazon’s device brand across multiple online and offline channels
• Understand and respond to performance data (metric tests, usability studies), and steer the direction of future creative designs
• Understand user experience best practices for web design & mobile interactions
• Use current and future marketing channels to inform and delight our customers
• Present and defend visual design solutions to leadership & business partners
• Collaborate with the Amazon design community at large to ensure consistent brand use across multiple marketing channels
• Grow team knowledge of best design practices and trends in web and graphic design
• Work with various categories to refresh/improve Amazon’s devices presence in their categories
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating online marketing, retail merchandising, visual branding, and great user-centered design solutions.
• Experience concepting and directing photo/video shoots.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in online marketing, digital advertising & retail or e-commerce design
• Experience managing multiple projects and the ability to meet aggressive deadlines
• Ability to work in an iterative environment, across teams and synthesize feedback from multiple teams/owners
• Expert Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and other image optimizing applications
• Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent professional experience
• Pixel-perfect attention to design detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Deep understanding of typography for the web. Experience with typesetting in a variety of languages is a plus.
• Expert level photo retouching skills/ editing skills
• Animation experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently to troubleshoot technical and process related issues.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to gracefully defend your design decisions to executive management
• Illustration experience
• Motion graphics and / or relevant animation experience
