The Appliance Solutions (AS) organization is changing the backup and recovery game for customers—built on industry-leading backup software, our appliances address the technical complexities of modern data protection and optimized secondary storage for companies of all sizes. The Appliance Solutions team works on the latest and greatest trend of technologies in the industry. Working in Appliances will expose you to the latest container technology as we build a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for the other Veritas development teams.
We develop solutions for private, hybrid and cloud support (AWS, GCP, Azure). Our architecture is based on micro services and use container technologies for build, deployment and orchestration. We always look ways to automate everything, constantly look for tools and open source to adopt for faster development with agility and have Hackathons every quarter to innovate in new areas and improve operational efficiency.
Our solutions will expose you to industry trends like data growth, virtualization, containerization, and telemetry analytics. We operate in a fully scaled Agile development environment that gives you complete ownership for the features that you develop.
Responsibilities
• Driving teams through the Software engineering process using Agile and demonstrated analytical and technical skills.
• Provides leadership to the Program Management team to further develop the Program Management role, processes and operations. Champions best practices across departments and projects, and ensures design and execution of continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Establishes program processes, program structure and norms, roles and responsibilities. Ensures that projects under the program are organized and execute in a consistent manner. Create sophisticated models and metrics for estimation and efficiency measurements with a goal of improving processes across projects.
• Proactively identifies program-level risks and addresses unresolved project-level risks that demand resolution at the program or portfolio level. Communicates program risks to appropriate stakeholders and develops a risk mitigation strategy and a contingency plan.
• Establishes and communicates vision and mission for Program Management department. Aligning organization and company goals and strategies.
• Inspires, leads, manages, and provides thought leadership to a team consisting of individual contributors. Provides input to the organizational structure. Focuses on hiring, coaching and mentoring, enabling training and development, and evaluating performance through setting clear goals and objectives.
• Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to guide team members on program management. Mentors less experienced team members in advanced concepts.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of strong technical program management experience.
• 6+ years of people management experience
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies.
• Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation.
• Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike.
• Ability to successfully collaborate with all functions across the entire company.
• Experience with Portfolio Management.
• Certifications like SAFe, Scrum Master, or PMP desired
