Director of Operations- APO- Public Sector
What You'll Do
The sales leader of this team is responsible for developing and executing growth strategies to accelerate the impact Public Sector partners have on Cisco’s growth. S/he will also influence the Public Sector strategy across the US, working with the field Directors for Partner Org and Operations Sales Directors/VPs and includes owning the Fed SI sell-to and sell-through.
The sales leader will have the responsibility of defining a cohesive GTM strategy by setting a multi-year vision and investment strategy supporting the Public Sector partner community, while ensuring adoption of strategies to capture new market opportunities and satisfy evolving customer consumption demands.
Finally, s/he will enable consistent business practices and operational rhythm (including 360 degree reviews of business health; forecast and funnel; credit capacity; performance; profitability; demand gen; programs utilization and ROI).
Accountable for all aspects of APO’s Public Sector short and long-term business strategies aligned to Cisco’s long-term goals.
Set business approach inclusive of go-to-market strategies to grow customer and partner loyalty and partner wallet share.
Create strategies focused on attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse, high performance workforce.
Develop CXO relationships within the partner.
Engage Cisco Executives with key partner leadership teams.
Tight interlock with Cisco sales leaders across various business Segments, Marketing, Services and the Global Partner Organization.
Who You'll Work With
The Operations Director in Americas Partner Organization, Public Sector oversees sales partners and a $6 Billion budget focused on federal, state & local government and education. New work includes the scaling of SLED, partner, territory business. The sales director is responsible for leading a team of leaders (partner enablement and readiness, partner system engineering, partner programs, ecosystem development, strategy and planning and architectural practices development) to develop comprehensive solutions and programs aligned to partners supporting public sector.
Who You Are
The successful candidate will be an experienced sales leader with an extensive track record of excellence within Public Sector (Federal and SLED programs) and must have 3 – 5 years as an Executive and ability to gain a government clearance.
• A minimum of $1B in revenue responsibility and will have managed a large organization.
• Cisco field sales or equivalent competitive field sales and leadership experience in complex environments
• Sales leader with 5 years of Public Sector experience, with at least three years at the director level.
• In depth knowledge of the unique requirement for Public Sector including state/federal contracting rules, programs, FAR, appropriate program adaptations and allowable incentives.
• Experience with non-traditional business models
• Engage across senior levels of major federal divisions and fed system integrators
