RESPONSIBILITIES
This leadership role is part of the Global Tax Operations team within Operations and offers a unique opportunity to work in a critical function of E*TRADE Financial. The role is dynamic and requires continuous interaction with key Vendors, Customer Service, Product, and Technology partners. The role will have oversight of Retirement Operations, which primarily consists of Individual and Small Business Retirement account processing for distribution, contributions and compliance reporting. The position will also act as a lead for department audits.
A successful candidate will be responsible for driving transformation and continuous improvement, leading projects and managing relationships with various stakeholders and vendors. They will create robust management and team structures through people development initiatives, ensuring the team is positioned well to execute a high standard of delivery and results within a controlled environment. This role is also expected to foster a strong culture of risk awareness and management.
Problem Resolution / Data Analysis
• Perform different levels of problem resolution & data analysis for all aspects of retirement operations support including contributions, distributions, conversions, recharacterizations and testing all tax data.
• Deliver objective analysis of error trends and opportunities. — identify root cause
• Resolve Retirement issues and document the resolution process
• Validate data integrity is maintained in client facing displays
• Assist the management team in developing metrics that demonstrate the progress / completion of Retirement inquiry resolution
• Ensure that the status reports produced are accurate, relevant, complete, and actionable.
Process Improvements & Procedures
• Contribute to the documenting of processes in diagrams and text from input through operational processing activities to output
• Contribute to the analysis of operational processes and technology involved for gaps, inefficiencies, potential redundancies and improvement opportunities
• Provide the Operational support to document business and functional requirements for necessary programs, enhancements, modifications, and/or re-writes to existing products.
• Assist in designing the implementation of optimal Retirement procedures, controls and self-audit functions
• Deliver training and educational support to Operations processing groups
• Assist in providing and improving Retirement metrics
• Assist in defining and delivering recommendations and solutions that address each process and technology component to ensure accurate Retirement data for our customers.
Quality Assurance
• Follow established procedures and quality assurance protocol for Retirement processes
• Support strategic plans that enhance productivity through process efficiencies and automation
Project Work
• Diligently follow up on Retirement project milestones contributions
• Perform different levels of testing which may include system testing, usability/GUI testing, regression testing and business user acceptance testing.
• Support creation, modification and review of test plan and test summary documents
• Assist in developing metrics that demonstrate the progress / completion of functionality testing.
• Ensure that the status reports produced are accurate, relevant, complete, and actionable.
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 3 years proven and progressive analytical experience in the financial services industry
• Knowledge of Retirement Plans (IRA, SEP, SIMPLE, Educational IRA, and Qualified plans) and their tax regulations, processing functions and outputs that reach customers.
• Analytical thinker, with excellent written and verbal communication
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work against multiple deadlines and objectives

• Demonstrate ownership and sense of urgency in resolving inquiries and issues
