Director, Metadata Management
Department Description:
The Information Management team is responsible for ensuring that Salesforce data is of the highest quality and easily democratized to improve overall Salesforce market performance, data predictability and agility. The Information Management group also works to reduce data-related compliance risks by providing Data Governance, stewardship, policy, standards (data classification, data lifecycle, data handling standards), controls and customer trust thru proactive Privacy by Design functions.
Responsibilities:
• Develops, implements, and facilitates the Salesforce Metadata Management/Data Catalog strategy.
• Enables Data Democratization thru a Enterprise Data Catalog via Data As An Asset and Proactive Compliance mentality.
◦ Ensures all data assets are inventoried, classified and have data stewardship identification.
◦ Supports data classification, tagging and general catalog requirement needs for Salesforce.
◦ Identifies 3rd party solution and implements data catalog with priority focus on Personal Data and Applog/Telemetry onboarding in an effort to support GDPR readiness.
◦ Provides Metadata Management Policy and standards for Salesforce.
◦ Participates in Data Classification, data life cycle and other other data classification types standards but will be tooling enablement function.
◦ Works with 3rd party solution on feature, requirement and scenario use case enablement.
◦ Assist Privacy Fundamental and AppLog governance functions by providing any data cataloging support needed.
◦ Partners with Legal Product & Privacy, Compliance, Kernel, Security, Privacy Fundamentals and all Product teams to support Metadata Management governance needs.
◦ Partners with Salesforce Data Products to provide persona, use case and product feature requirements to enable Customer Digital Transformation and Analytics success.
◦ Up level's metadata management related data issues to Data Governance council
◦ Partners with data loss prevention to ensure data catalog enablement of data loss functions.
◦ Provides Data Lineage, change management and impact assessment capabilities.
◦ Will provide metadata audit reporting (stewards, classifications, last updated, life cycle, etc.)
• Responsible for ensuring Metadata Management program effectiveness, measurement and optimization.
◦ Prepares reports and presentations on the state of Metadata Management program.
◦ Monitors and drives others to mitigate metadata related risks.
◦ Provides accountability insights by Product/service owner as to the adoption, implementation or metadata quality and/or issues for executive insight and decisioning.
◦ Provides Master Data Management PoC support.
• Accountable for the implementation of a near-real time Data Risk monitoring 3rd party solution which will be implemented on top of a data catalog and used to support Privacy Fundamentals and GDPR readiness.
• Leverages Data Management framework DMMI to assess Salesforce Data Management Maturity and to plan mitigations, focal areas and overall program development.
Required Skills:
• Requires relevant BA/BS degree.
• 6+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Significant knowledge and experience in all facets of Data Governance, including data and information architecture, Master Data Management, Access Control, Metadata Management, Data Quality, Compliance, Security and Risk Management.
• Experience with Metadata and Master Data Management.
• Agile, proactive, comfortable working with ambiguous specifications and can prioritize on the fly.
• Knowledge of and experience with enterprise business practices and industry trends.
• Knowledge of GDPR regulations, ISO, SOX, FedRamp and other compliance regulations.
• Knowledge of the NIST framework.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate people, instill accountability, and drive results.
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals including engineers, systems administrators, executives, customers, regulators, auditors, etc.
• Industry certifications in security, technology, and/or business management are a plus (e,g, CRISC, CISSP, CCIE, CISM, CISA, PMP, etc.).
