The Senior Director, Strategy and Business Development is responsible for identifying key business opportunities and leading short and long-term strategic business planning processes for Egencia worldwide.
Core Accountabilities:
Lead the global strategic planning process, working closely with the Egencia leadership team and Finance team to deliver:
• Create the annual roadmap, develop KPIs and track progress against key initiatives
• Coordinate and consolidate strategic planning and presentation materials for 3-year plan to be presented to Expedia, Inc. senior leadership, as quarterly business reviews
• Identify and drive key strategic initiatives across the company to improve operational performance, customer loyalty and competitive positioning. For some of these initiatives: conduct research and synthesize complex data; frame up critical focus areas; provide insight and lead cross-organizational teams in developing actionable solutions
• Develop recommendations based on analytics, financial modeling and a thorough understanding of detailed implementation requirements and risks
• Support the Brand President to communicate the strategy to the organization, secure commitment and alignment, and share progress versus plan
Partner with the Brand President, CFO and Expedia, Inc. Corporate Development to identify strategic business opportunities, including acquisitions of travel management or technology companies, conduct due diligence, plan their integration, and develop and monitor the synergy plan
Support the Brand President with other strategic activities including running leadership meetings and preparing Board presentations
Experience:
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in strategic planning, business development, finance or consulting fields
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a business unit leading a function or holding an operational role
• M&A and consulting experience with a top-tier firm preferred
• Experience working in diverse, global environments spanning multiple time zones
Qualifications:
• Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate, organize and prioritize critical workstreams to drive business results
• Exceptional critical thinking and strategic problem solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex information in small and large group settings
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across the organization and functions
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to envision and articulate a compelling future
• Ability to manage a small consulting team to deliver strategic planning, strategic analysis and due diligence

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree
• MBA preferred
