Director, AWS Technical Content
DESCRIPTION
Are you a professional with world-class content strategy experience? Do you have experience defining and driving content production at a global level and implementing data-driven systems to understand content effectiveness? Do you understand the cloud computing market, and how to most effectively drive awareness and enablement across technical audiences?
We are looking for an exceptionally-skilled leader to drive our global efforts to develop a comprehensive content strategy and coordinate the development of that content across all of Amazon Web Services (AWS). Successful candidates will have a solid background in technical content development and/or marketing, including helping define and drive associated company strategy. You will be responsible for partnering with all teams that create the content, and establishing priority areas. You will ensure consistent methods and mechanisms are in place to consistently determine content effectiveness across all teams. A solid understanding of the cloud computing market is essential, with the ability to understand key existing and upcoming industry trends in order to properly prioritize content production.
The ideal candidate:
• Responsible for developing a content plan that drives adoption of services.
• Work across teams, including but not limited to, Business Development, Solutions Architecture, Partner, Marketing, Field Enablement and Training & Certification to develop top content priorities and ensure the right content is produced to support those priorities.
• Ensure that AWS is creating consistent, effective content that meets current customer need while anticipating future needs.
• Building highly effective virtual teams in a matrix organization, including leading through very complex prioritization challenges.
• Envisioning innovative new approaches to manage content and training at scale and successfully advocating for future resources with senior management.
• A competitive candidate will thrive in a high-change, fast-paced environment. He or she will be results-oriented and have the ability to take practical steps to achieve a long-term, cutting edge vision.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree
• 7+ years leading a training or support content function in a global organization or a technical function responsible for global content production
• 7+ years in people management
• Demonstrated ability to measure program performance with data
• Ability to travel internationally and conduct business during international time zones as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA or Masters in a relevant field
• A track record of scaling a global program
• Clear examples of conceiving and delivering innovative solutions
• Demonstrated project management success
• Demonstrated ability to lead the development or selection and management of knowledge management systems
• Exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills, as well as a strong technical and analytical aptitude
