About the Director of Operations - Texas Territory Role
As the Director of Operations in the Texas territory you are a key part of the regional leadership team, and work closely with the Head of Operations-West, and the GM-West, to both optimize your territory and shape the future of the region.
For the Texas Territory:
You will lead multiple departments including Finance, Community Services Support, Facilities, Security, and Member Technology.
You will drive the success of all operational support for Community Management teams.
You will oversee the processes and reporting related to the launch of all new buildings in the territory in close collaboration with Real Estate, Physical Product and Sales leaders.
You will oversee the Quality Assurance function in the Territory which audits all CM teams and buildings on a regular basis to ensure adherence to brand standards.
You will live the mission and values of WeWork at all times; model the leadership behaviors you expect to see in your territory.
Responsibilities:
Finance, Operations Process Management and Business Insights
Work in concert with the Finance Lead for the region to prepare budgets for the Territory and manage the ongoing reforecast process; identify & recommend opportunities to reduce OPEX and improve business efficiency.
Oversee key processes in the Territory to optimize the Territory's business, including goal setting and review, and cross-functional meetings designed to tackle the most pressing facilities and operational issues.
On an ongoing basis audit key regional business processes and recommend improvements.
Play a “program management” role in the territory to ensure that the highest priority projects are successfully executed.
Play a lead role in the region in terms of the new building opening and quality assurance functions.
Security & IT Management:
Hire and oversee the Texas security team
Oversee Territory security policy and procedure as determined by the Global Head of Security
Work collaboratively with IT and Global Security to develop a Business Continuity Plan
Ensure all fire, health and life safety regulations are being followed in the Territory
Work in concert with the regional Member Technology lead to ensure that all buildings and members are online
Facilities:
Manage the Facilities Operations Managers in the Territory
Drive the team’s achievement of Facilities SLAs
Analyze recurring facilities issues in region and work on solutions to mitigate
Continually explore and implement process improvement measures
Manage legal & compliance issues relative to building operations to ensure WeWork is operating within compliance of all applicable laws
Oversee both employees and outside contractors that provide cleaning services to Territory buildings.
Hospitality Services:
Collaborate with the Head of Operations and General Manager of the region to explore and implement food and beverage programs regionally that are consistent with WeWork’s brand.
Director of Operations Texas Experience & Requirements:
BA / BS or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Hospitality or other related degree
Minimum 10+ years experience in hospitality, food and beverage, property management or closely related experience with strong operational focus
Experience opening new business units, including restaurants, hotels and commercial properties, etc.
Entrepreneurial experience is a plus.
Deep understanding of building financials in order to continually optimize vendor and team performance
Experience managing teams located in multiple markets and countries.
