LendingClub’s Investor Group is responsible for raising highly diversified capital to fund loan products on the platform through retail customers. The team is passionate about building investment products that provide for a great customer experience while providing access to unique asset classes. Our Investor Group partners with dedicated legal, finance and operations teams to deliver compelling investment solutions for clients.
The Role
You'll join a newly created Funding Strategy group that works cross-functionally with our Investor and Borrower teams. You will report to the VP of Funding Strategy and help develop strategic business plans to help build and fund one of our business lines, Patient Solutions. You'll be part of a high impact team that will continue to expand.
Responsibilities
• Develop and drive funding strategy for the business line
• Build and maintain the funding roadmap
• Partner with the business line GM to drive the finance product roadmap and strategy
• Lead engagement and sales strategy across the Investor Group for Purchase Finance; partner with dedicated sales team
• Lead and participate in new product development, pricing strategy, credit strategy, and go-to-market strategy by anticipating investor and marketplace requirements
• Collaborate and serve as a trusted partner to Sales, Marketing, Legal, Accounting, Finance, Credit and Loss Forecasting to drive initiatives forward
• Develop a risk appetite and overcome roadblocks
• Act as an advocate for investors within your business line team; be the go-to-expert on investor needs
• Understand and articulate the complexities of your business (operational, organizational, strategic) in the context of other LendingClub business lines
About You (Requirements):
• BA/BS degree
• 8+ years work experience, preferably with some experience in product management and consulting or investment banking
• Prior experience in consumer finance or credit
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex concepts simply to internal partners across all levels
• Experience with data driven environments and agility working with measurement and attribution models
• Attention to detail with strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Relationship building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment
• Ability to create order out of chaos and solve complex problems in an organized manner
• Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, environment and desire to take on multiple responsibilities to complete tasks
• Strong sense of personal ownership and accountability – for self and team
• Excellent in Microsoft PPT and Excel
• Ability to influence without authority
• Travel to Boston area every 6-8 weeks
