Overview
The Director of Workplace Analytics & Governance, is responsible for delivering a world-class workplace experience to the Veritas Business units globally, while adhering to corporate real estate objectives. The Director of Workplace Analytics & Governance must be a visible & vocal advocate for the Department in concert with Veritas’ customer centric culture to champion the Departments initiatives and successes. This director must work well in a team environment, interacting and collaborating with various positions within the Workplace Services organization, IT, HR, Finance, Sourcing, et al, and outside the company with vendors and providers. This director must provide analytic data reports, define best practices and evaluate current trends in order to leverage and help drive decisions on behalf of its customers which will reinforce the Departments’ mission to create a highly desirable place to work. This director will provide subject matter expertise and strategic data analysis to influence site decisions for the company. The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic Workplace policies and corporate standards. Strong communication skills, management skills and experience in managing in global environment are a must for this director.
Responsibilities
• Vendor Relationship Management and Governance: Assist WPS leader in vendor management and conducting/facilitating governance meetings globally
• Data Management Analytics & Reporting: Support WPS with data management by maintaining, improving and when needed developing standard and ad-hoc reports. Evaluate data and perform statistical analysis to identify improvement opportunities as well as associated issues and risks. Leverage data to contribute to the strategic development of the business as a whole.
• Build and maintain client relationships with internal Business Units. Leverage existing or find and recruit stakeholders from across various teams within Veritas. Be prepared to mediate negotiations between Business Units on work place issues.
• Change Management: Help implement new initiatives and develop change management and communication plans. Develop stake holder communications for WPS organization. Aid in driving cultural change throughout the organization by leveraging focus groups and change management sessions.
• Operations Improvement: Remain up to date on industry trends and best practices, plan and execute special projects to improve WPS operations
• Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures
• Financial: Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Prepare and control operational budgets. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the organization.
• Human Resources: As instructed by the WPS leader and in partnership with HR, assist in organizing recruitment and placement of required staff. Verify or establish organizational structures. Establish work schedules.
• Communication – Working directly with Corporate Communications monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as IT, HR, Accounts and Finance. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions
• Budgeting: Support the development of WPS Capital & Operations budget in partnership with corporate finance. Monitor, track and report as required expenses and variance against budget
Desired Characteristics and Qualification
• 10+ years of experience in Operations in a lead or managerial role with budget ownership and accountability
• Strong vendor management capabilities with proven track record
• Experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management
• Excellent understanding of business and management principles and practices
• Knowledge of financial and GAAP & International accounting principles and practices
• Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices
• Information technology skills
• Ability for critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Excellent panning and organizing, decision-making, and communicative skills
• Ability to handle conflict management, adaptability, and stress tolerance
• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, design, architecture, facilities management or planning, or equivalent work experience in corporate real estate, architectural/interior design or consulting.
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience and track record of success in similar roles.
• Process improvement six sigma certification a plus
• Excellent client service and communication skills as demonstrated by experience interfacing with high level management, facilitating agreement to proposed solutions and conflict resolution.
• Ability to lead, plan and manage change.
• Solid understanding of real estate, workplace technology, and workforce planning, with the ability to integrate them as appropriate to develop workplace solutions.
• Ability to organize a team of multiple stakeholders, motivate them to a common goal, and communicate effectively on an on-going basis.
• Vendor management experience, successfully administering programs through the leverage provided by outsource service providers.
• Proven proficiencies with space planning and management technology applications and databases, experience with FM Systems a plus.
• Process-oriented manager, able to design, implement, manage and account for performance of complex business processes.
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, developing clear analyses and presentations through a variety of medium and decision documents.
• Strong multi-tasking, organization and time management skills.
