Overview
The Senior Director, Web Marketing is responsible for driving Akamai’s global campaign and go-to-market strategies for Web Performance and Security products and services. This person will help evangelize, drive and lead the transformation of Akamai’s marketing campaign efforts to being business aligned, prioritized, insights and data driven, and ROI accountable. This is a highly strategic role, leading the strategy and then development of next-gen marketing strategies, investments and initiatives.
They will develop and orchestrate transformed campaign planning and prioritization process via cross-collaboration with divisional leadership, sales, and marketing teams. Their leadership will drive re-allocation of resources and budget to maximize return on investment across Akamai’s marketing budget. Including enabling Akamai to launch more effective go-to-market initiatives that maximize efforts across channels (paid, earned, owned) and enabling real-time analysis and optimization.

Someone who loves setting strategy and vision and aligning and inspiring stakeholders across an organization behind transformational outcomes.
As a Senior Director of Marketing you will:
• Develop global marketing strategies and plans based on inputs from LOB partners, lessons learned/best practices, data sources, outside-in perspectives and expertise around integrated communication channels.
• Provide marketing budgets balancing spend for people vs programs, working vs. non-working, brand vs. demand, field vs. global vs. field, etc.
• Create detailed marketing strategies and customer contact plans for themes/campaigns/programs/tactics by region, industry, segment, target, etc.
• Coordinate and lead integration of cross functional inputs including content and asset creation, translation, PR, website, etc.
• Establish forecasts/goals for lead volume/quality/velocity targets per program, deals by existing customer vs. new customer, conversion rates, cost per lead, site traffic, social engagements, cost savings, etc.
• Deliver global marketing guidance including detailed budgets by market/tactic, expectations on leads per tactic, creative examples, activation schedules, etc.
• Advise LOB partners on priorities and trade-offs based on budget & logistical limitations and/or recommend incremental spending, if/when required.
• Participate in joint discussions with LOB and marketing leadership to approve annual and quarterly plans.
• Help lead, recruit, motivate, and mentor a team of strategic, data-driven, next-gen marketers to support Akamai’s Web Performance and Security business.
About the Team
The Senior Director, Web Marketing reports to the Vice President, Global Marketing. The Global Marketing Team is primarily responsible for elevating Akamai’s Brand by accelerating relevance and awareness among key audiences and influencers and accelerating Akamai’s marketing effectiveness by leveraging data, technology, insights, and streamlined processes to make marketing more efficient & effective.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
• 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or
• 12 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or
• 10 years of relevant experience and a PhD or
• Equivalent professional experience
Required Skills
• 15+ years of marketing experience
• 10+ years of senior marketing leadership in a high-growth, innovative environment, with an emphasis on web, cloud and digital technology.
