We are looking for a Vice President of Engineering who is very technical, highly product-oriented, and business driven. You constantly think about customer success, product strategy, and how to grow the business at a rapid pace. You will be part of the founding executive team for a new area of our business, and will be required to wear multiple hats to help us develop and take to market the best platform and applications for a very large market.
Responsibilities
• Build and Lead a high performing Engineering organization from the ground up
• Demand and reward excellence
• Drive the technical direction of the platform and the application
• Drive the development culture so every team member religiously thinks about Team Velocity, Recruiting, and Customer Success
• Drive the technical culture so every team member religiously thinks about Scale, Performance, APIs, Ease of Use, and Graceful Exception Handling
• You will co-own, with Product Management, the roadmap and direction of the platform and applications
Qualifications
• Customer driven and customer facing executive experience
• Competitive, Driven, and wants to build the best products in the industry. To be second is not good enough
• 5-10+ years of experience managing a high performing engineering team, at a VP level, in a rapidly growing environment
• Lead the design, architecture, and development of successful large scale and high performing platform/products
• Solid hands on experience in object oriented development, databases, and client side technologies
• History of strong leadership to drive recruiting and building teams from ground zero
• Ability to formulate and articulate strategy/vision and effectively drive consensus across the organization
• Must work extremely well with Product Management and User Experience teams
• Capable of handling development of multiple products simultaneously
