Requirements
BA in Communications or Public Relations preferred. MA Communications or MBA, a plus
At least 13 to 15 years combined corporate and agency experience within the food & beverage industry; promotional and/or CPG/Retail PR required
Relationship management with media, external agencies, and business partners
Superior written and verbal presentation skills
Strategic planning, execution and budget management
Crisis communications management experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results

Description
The Vice President, Enterprise Public Relations ensures the brand reputation of 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. is enhanced through pro-active public relations programs and campaigns. This senior communications role develops a strategy to focus on all aspects of the brands' reputation and image, both directly and indirectly related to the organization. This position leads a team of communication professionals to identify opportunities with key external stakeholders, primarily media and industry influencers, to convey a narrative about the organization concentrated on their thought leadership, customer experience and products.
The Vice President, Enterprise Public Relations, 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. must be able to collaborate and influence key internal stakeholders cross-functionally to manage and enhance consumer, business and trade communication programs. The candidate must be an excellent project manager, poised and diplomatic, possess strong media relations skills, have team and budget management experience as well as possess superior written and verbal communication skills. In addition, the candidate must have significant crisis communications management experience, preferably with CPG companies.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Provide effective leadership and strategic direction to a communications team of 5 brand professionals as well as external public relations agencies to identify and create consumer, business and trade communications plans to support 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. Collaborate with enterprise business leaders to develop the strategy and roadmap for internal and external communication strategies aligned with business priorities. (25%)
Develop, nurture and maintain relationships with appropriate media outlets, industry and local influencers. Prepare senior executives for press interviews, speaking engagements, events, etc., including message points and briefings. Draft press-related correspondence, company presentations and executive profiles/communications. (25%)
Leveraging the art of storytelling, promote 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. in a manner that enhances credibility and brand awareness/relevancy. In conjunction with the SVP, Corporate Communications & Investor Relations, serve as the key communications advisor to the senior leadership team as well as the crisis communications lead. (20%)
Manage and organize the execution of tactical communications plans and integration programs for 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. Oversee communications team to execute PR campaigns within budget parameters and drive results along with identifying measurement tactics to define success. (20%)
In collaboration with the SVP, Corporate Communications & Investor Relations, build effective relationships cross-functionally and with key partners to improve the communication and identification of key priorities while managing expectations and delivering solutions that drive business growth. Be an advocate for the culture and environment that fosters the company's brand image. (10%)
At least 20% travel will be required for this position.
