As Director, Owner Services in APAC, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong partner relationships with hotel owners and ownership groups and These relationships will be formed by strategically identifying and targeting new relationships, as well as supporting Key Accounts and Market Managers with their Owner constituents. The Director will help to strengthen Expedia’s position and perception in the hotel industry by educating our owners, ownership groups, through presentations and one-on-one relations and participating at industry events. The Director will explore new types of partnerships, develop new services, and help set priorities for a very fragmented market, working with the broader Owner Services team. This is a new role, so the Director will need to be flexible as priorities come into focus, and the team continues to build. This position will work in close partnership with our leadership for Market Management and Key Accounts in APAC, but it will report to the global VP ownership services.
The successful candidate will be able to empathize with Owners while building trusting relationships and helping to create and sell new services, work across Expedia’s various functions, manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, own deliverables end to end, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic environment. This individual must be self-motivated and able to deal with a level of ambiguity.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the account management effort in establishing and maintaining supplier relationships with hotel ownership groups
• Identify opportunities to educate owners on Expedia Inc.’s value proposition and work with them to strategically drive revenue and shift share
• Establish and maintain relationships with owners by attending and speaking at industry conferences.
• Provide regular reporting and conduct quarterly business reviews with ownership groups
• Generate creative ideas and provide input for our partners back into the Owner Services and Strategy organization to drive new services that enhance our partnership with this critical industry group
• Communicate effectively over email and phone calls, understanding the issues facing the partners and developing mutually beneficial relationships
• Articulate data and value proposition to large audiences of people, both internally and externally.
• Negotiate and implement tailored agreements when necessary
• May require some analytical smarts to understand the data needs of our partners, and develop compelling reports that they can understand
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree in Business preferred
• 10 years+ experience in the hospitality industry, either working with owners or in an asset management capacity; preferably strongly connected with owners
• An understanding of hotel analytics, web analytics and revenue management techniques a plus
• Strong public speaking skills
• Superior problem-solving skills, self-motivation and the capacity to work under pressure
• Excellent and written and oral communication skills
• Statistical / analytical capacity
• Travel 40-60%
