Working within the Lodging, Media and Consulting team, you will play a key role in helping Egencia achieve our strategic objectives and deliver on our growth ambitions. You will be part of the team who support Egencia’s VP, Global Supply - Lodging in driving strategic initiatives, running consulting-style engagements to tackle our top strategic issues, and identifying, planning for and rolling out new product offerings. As part of this, you will also collaborate closely with senior management, regional business units (Europe, Americas, APAC), business functions (marketing, technology, finance), clients and business partners.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic analyses (both qualitative and quantitative) that support the development and implementation of Egencia’s lodging, media and consulting strategy, and communicate the findings and recommendations to inform and influence senior management.
Examples include:
• Understanding and summarizing corporate travel industry trends, competitor performance and implications for Egencia’s strategy
• Benchmark competitor offers and business models, and assess the implications for Egencia
• Developing Egencia’s perspective on the potential of untapped or underserved market segments
• Understand and monitor new industry trends and business models, start-ups, and technology developments, and assess the implications for Egencia
• Supporting general strategy planning topics (e.g. what’s our ambition, how fast can we grow and sources of growth, strategic priorities)
Lead analyses on select cross-functional strategic initiatives to deliver incremental revenue and profit to the company and in alignment with the strategic direction of the company. Examples could include analysis to inform product and services offer design, customer and product segmentation, customer and product profitability analysis, customer satisfaction drivers, and team productivity drivers.
Other activities to support the Egencia Lodging, Media and Consulting team may include:
• Supporting preparation of senior executive materials
• Supporting the deployment of selected strategic initiatives across the organization, through rigorous project management and in close working relationship with business unit leaders
• Communicating our progress against strategic plan and priorities to the whole Egencia organization (e.g. scorecards, town halls)
• Engage directly with new and existing supplier partners to develop new product offerings or enhance the Egencia customer experience
Competencies:
• Strong analytical skills - proven experience to structure and analyze ambiguous and complex business problems, combine and analyze relevant data from multiple data sources, and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to simplify complex concepts for wide audience including executive level
• Strong influencing and relationship building skills as appropriate to a diverse (and increasingly senior) range of audiences
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail and quality
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Intellectual curiosity for what drives the business
• Superior problem-solving skills, self-motivation and the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines with limited guidance
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred
• 7+ years related experience
• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment, including communicating with senior managers
• Expertise in modeling, analysis, research, and creating presentations
• Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to use them internally, externally, and at all levels
• Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• A passion for change and a love of travel
• Demonstrated experience in matrixed organizations, a plus
