The Managing Director, Creative is responsible for the development of consistently superior creative marketing and interactive materials that will support established business strategies and project the appropriate brand image for the Quidsi sites. The Director will provide guidance to the creative team on the design and content across our family of sites. A core responsibility of this role is to optimize content both visually and written across the entire customer journey. In addition, the ideal candidate must have the analytical abilities necessary to gather key business and user insights, and strategic planning skills to create a long-term vision for the content being generated.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the creative execution of eCommerce, copy, and digital creative activities while developing and executing a holistic customer-focused strategy in all brand touch-points.
• Oversee design and production of digital creative assets for Quidsi, including Quidsi’s promotional assets, email, digital marketing, and other associated digital/interactive assets and experiences.
• Strategize what topics to address when, including content marketing offerings, to support the customer at multiple points in the customer journey.
Identify opportunities to improve content development processes and tools
• Manage and maintain a consistent brand look, feel, and voice across multiple teams to ensure that developing campaign is executed in a coordinated fashion through multiple media channels.
• Identify how content can and should vary based on customer needs and where each need arises in the customer journey.
• Work with the Marketing and Merchandising organizations as well as with executive management to provide creative/design direction and expertise.
• Represent the Creative, eCommerce, and Marketing organizations to multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Select, assign, oversee, and supervise the activities of external creative agencies as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Advertising or a related field and 7+ years of creative agency or in-house experience
• 5+ years experience leading a team of creative and design professionals
• Experience creating visual content (video, multimedia, graphics)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Proven experience motivating and managing creative organizations.
• Effective organizational approach, performance management orientation, and superb interpersonal skills
• High level of professional maturity.
• Use sound business judgment to make quick decisions under pressure in ambiguous circumstances
• Able to translate established marketing strategies into clear, concise, and appealing visuals, which are consistent with the brand vision.
• Excellent conceptual skills and ability to provide creative direction consistent with the Quidsi brands and style.
• Expert at developing creative and copy for e-commerce websites, microsites, interactive advertising, social experiences and online brand management and integration.
