About the Job
The Vice President Marketing Operations leads the strategy, development and ongoing operational support for marketing reporting, process and planning definition, data strategy/CRM and management, marketing training strategy, budgeting/ROI and advanced analytics. This person also works closely with the CMO and marketing leadership team to develop and drive the priorities for marketing transformation and evolution. This will include leading a team of program and change management resources to enable, manage, and monitor changes across people, process and technology. Operational responsibilities also include executing lead qualification, routing, and performance management on behalf of the product & divisional marketing teams.
The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for building the organization, aligning and developing an operating model and cadence with cross functional partners including cross functional marketing teams, IT, finance, and sales. This will also include defining critical leadership positions within the operations function, recruiting high caliber talent internally and externally, and providing ongoing leadership and strategic and operational support for the team.
This is an ideal position for someone who is experienced in transformations and understands how to seamlessly shift between driving strategy and simultaneously defining and developing detailed operational plans and processes. A hands on, results oriented leader who is passionate about analytics, ROI driven decision making, and evolving and inspiring marketers.
This role requires strong strategic vision and also deep operational experience. It requires a structured approach to prioritizing problems to solve and opportunities to capitalize on. Resources will need to be developed and completely new processes and operations will need to be stood up. This is a creating position – not an evolving one – and success will depend upon both the effective collaborative and cross functional definition and alignment of priorities as well as delivery against those goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
• Design the processes, cadence, and inputs/outputs for strategic marketing planning
• Design, develop and deliver a robust marketing measurement approach that addresses both reputation/brand activities as well as demand/lead generation and sales enablement
• Implement critical marketing reporting mechanisms, including automating dashboards and reports
• Introduce advanced analytics capabilities including attribution, A/B testing, and multi-touch modeling
• Develop a CRM/customer data strategy. Introduce propensity modeling capabilities.
• Lead the marketing data strategy and management. Engage and align with relevant corporate data initiatives
• Provide marketing process leadership, working in conjunction with impacted marketing and sales functions
• Oversee of marketing planning and budgeting process
• Develop best practice strategy, set of strategic resources, and foster outside-in perspectives in marketing
• Develop our marketing development/training strategy and plan
• Provide ongoing strategic support and thought leadership to CMO
• Led, recruit, motivate, and develop a team of marketing professionals
• Identify opportunities for driving efficiencies and lead process development and change management efforts.
Basic Qualifications
• BA or BS Degree, MBA preferred
• 15+ years of marketing experience, ideally in operations roles
• Project management experience
• Marketing reporting and dashboard development, analysis and delivery, including using data from marketing automation, sales automation, web analytics and finance
• Experience with measurement/dashboard creation in non-U.S. markets
• Deep skill and experience in digital marketing strategy and proven ability to drive multiple complex digital marketing programs and projects simultaneously, serving both in an oversight and hands-on role as needed
• Has built and maintained multiple complex, global web properties and proven ability to grow traffic
• Experience with Marketing Automation Systems, Content Management Systems, RWD, Mobile Technology
• Proven cross-functional collaborator able to translate strategy into actionable plans

• 15+ years of marketing experience including 5-10 years of senior marketing leadership in a high-growth, innovative environments.

• Experience attracting, hiring, retaining, and developing high-performing teams and individuals. A motivating executive capable of instilling excitement and inspiring others

• Excellent organization, communication, program, and process management skills. Hands-on leadership and detail/process orientation. Ability to problem solve, identify root causes of obstacles and address fundamental systemic and operational issues to accelerate results. Continuous improvement orientation.
• Ability to translate business objectives to marketing goals and measurement. Experience developing and executing marketing metrics and dashboards.
• Data-driven decision maker. Outstanding analytical skills. Ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience working with data management tools and best practices.
• Strong track record of driving results through effectively presenting to and influencing executives, peers, and boards.
• Experience working globally.
• Experience in sales or finance is desirable
• Demand creation/field marketing experience is preferred.
• Industry experience in BTB technology or software.
• Former experience working in consulting preferred.
