Financial Risk Review (FRR) group provides independent review of the Company’s financial risk management activities, which include asset liability management, liquidity risk management, market risk management (including mortgage banking) and capital management. FRR evaluates the effectiveness of risk management practices, monitors existing risks, and proactively identifies emerging risks within the respective risk area. FRR tests and provides reports results of risk management practices and controls across the areas of financial risk and provides recommendations to management intended to identify areas where financial risk management practices can be strengthened.
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role you will be an advisor and authority with respect to the Financial Risk ramifications of the Bank’s business, this executive is responsible for educating and guiding the constituencies with respect to the applicable rules and behaviors that govern the bank’s operations in these areas. Our ideal candidate will balance risks appropriately against business objectives and discerning issues of real importance from minor ones and be expert in communication to influence required timely action to resolve issues.
Other responsibilities include:
• Provides critical leadership and cohesiveness to the FRR team,
• Develops annual FRR risk based review plan
• Conducts Independent Reviews
• Ongoing meetings with all levels of management and regulators

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
• 15 or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment
• Applicable certifications
Preferred Skills/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or greater in business/economics or a related field and/or professional designation in a business field or a CFA, desirable.
-15+ years of experience financial risk in a relevant function within a financial services organization.
• Experience leading a team of professionals.
• Experience with review or testing of one or more of the following preferred:
• Trading-book/market risk management
• Asset/liability management and interest rate risk management
• Liquidity risk management and strategic/tactical liquidity contingency planning
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary
• Ability to express ideas and criticisms succinctly and support changes to existing processes to improve risk management effectiveness
• Familiarity with applicable banking laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact banks’ financial risk management
• Strong presentation and written communication skills, able to present results to a range of audiences, including senior management
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word. VBA experience is a plus
