Job Summary:
This opportunity is a business side position within the Americas Risk Management Division, on a Business Analyst team that supports the various risk stripes and risk systems to promote best practices and provide stakeholders guidance through the project lifecycle. Areas of current support include Credit Risk Reporting, Risk Analytics, Counterparty Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance, and Policy. Position is focused in assisting risk projects including analysis of needs in order to build Business Requirements and engaging in all phases of the project through to implementation, working as a liaison between business users and our technology partners. Prepares business requirements, feasibility studies, program specifications, user test plans, user documentation, and user training plans. Assists in the overall testing of bank developed or vendor supplied packages. Provides formal and informal user training and general user support. Responsible for gathering, compiling and synthesizing information with regard to business processes and corresponding technology processes or systems. As the position is within risk management and there is an emphasis on data accuracy and reporting needs, candidates need to have strong querying ability in order to pull from the data warehouses and perform analysis and comparisons across large data sets.
Major Responsibilities:
Demonstrates an understanding of the business processes and functionality of the applications supported and the interfaces to and from the applications. Uses flowcharting tools to document system design and interfaces. Exhibits a comprehensive knowledge of sound design techniques, decomposition of problems into manageable system modules and performance/cost tradeoffs.
35% Participates in the process of identifying business needs of assigned user areas and translating them into business requirements and data requirements and then collaborates with IT on sourcing for those data requirements. . Conducts user interviews, contacts vendors and performs independent research as required. Uses analytical skills as recognized by industry standards, as well as knowledge of bank operations Prepares functional requirements and feasibility studies.
25% Prepares test plans, documents test cases, reviews results of tests, and identifies further testing required. Exhibits a comprehensive knowledge of testing techniques and the scope needed in a test plan. Understands accounting controls and is able to perform balancing and reconciliation to ensure that financial systems are performing as required.
20% Demonstrates a good working knowledge of project management techniques and applies these skills to the use of the bank's project methodology. Prepares regular status reports and assists in project management, tracking and reporting.
20% Intermediate professional level role. Develops systems solutions requiring analysis and research. Works on small to large, moderately complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and possesses knowledge in a specific business area.
Qualifications
Additional Information:
• Work Experience Typically has 3 - 5 years of IT experience and 2 years’ experience in project management
• Education Bachelor's Degree with preference in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or directly related field
• Required – Candidates must have strong SQL abilities
• Required – Experience in risk management
• Experience using the following tools are a plus: Toad, SAS, Access, Excel, OFSAA, OBIEE, Business Objects, OpenPages
• Experience working with Data Warehouse is a plus
