Job Description Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible, under direction from the Staff Accountant, for a portion of the general ledger accounting function and ensuring a high level of performance accuracy. The Accounting Manager will help maintain the integrity of all accounting procedures, records and reports. This individual will also be responsible for assisting the Controller in the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports. All duties should be performed within the guidelines of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and with the company’s Internal Control Standards and objectives.
Job Description:
1. AR responsibilities:
• Responsible for portions of the City Ledger such as house accounts, and intercompany accounts.
• Handles guest billing requests, confirms subsequent receipt of invoices and assists in guest folio inquiries
• Posts daily credit card settlements and maintains receivables from merchant accounts
• Organize files of hard copy, back up documentation for outstanding receivables, and paid bills
• Researches and responds to credit card company inquiries and charge backs, documents and maintains files for same
• Assists Accounting Manager in maintaining the Aging and making collection calls to outstanding accounts
• Other duties as assigned
2. General Cashier responsibilities:
• Oversees cashier activities to ensure adherence to policies and procedures for cash handling operations
• Balances and reconciles daily cash and checks to posted revenues, and prepares bank deposits
• Prepares cashier due backs and petty cash whenever necessary to maintain cashier bank total
• Prepares daily and monthly cashier over/short reports
• Maintains the cash recycler machine and prepares change orders when necessary
• Verifies all foreign exchange rates computed on foreign currency exchange funds and arranges for conversion
• Other duties as assigned
3. Finance office responsibilities:
• Responsible for organizing the finance office such as, but not limited to, ordering supplies, filing, shredding, and monitoring the storage room
• Assist with month end closing such as random and full inventory counts
• Other projects or tasks as assigned
