Responsibilities:
Proactively engage and partner with large institutional clients, prospects and industry consultants to solve investment challenges with Principal Global Investor's products to increase assets under management and generate investment management fee income. Develop and execute marketing strategies to build and strengthen relationships with prospective and existing clients, with a focus on new business generation. Responsible for maintaining existing client relationships where a Relationship Manager is not assigned. Participate in the development and design of new products. Meet or exceed goals for growth in assets under management, new business generation and/or new clients obtained.
Success in this position requires a well developed, proven ability to influence to achieve results, close the sales in high-pressure final presentations and a strong market-driven, client-oriented focus. This position may be subject to SEC restrictions on personal political contributions
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus at least seven years related experience in the institutional asset management industry.
• MBA preferred.
• CFA and/or passage of FINRA Series 6 and 63 or 7 may be required for certain markets.
• Series 3 required within 90 days of employment.
• Commercial real estate or public funds marketing experience may be required depending on the market assigned.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, including interpersonal skills and presentation ability.
• Must possess strong project management skills, in-depth product knowledge, and service orientation.
• Excellent knowledge of the institutional asset management market required.
• Also essential is the ability to identify opportunities and view clients' situations analytically and holistically.
• Extensive travel required.
