The Licensing Manager is responsible for managing IT Entitlements for all Software as well as Maintenance Renewals for all Software, Hardware, Telecom and Application Service Provider (ASP) / Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements. Manage existing Software License and all Maintenance contracts in contract database including handling all requests for interpretation of existing rights and obligations. Responsible for setting up Contracts and Licenses in Entitlements Database and linking all applicable License and Maintenance Purchase Orders to the appropriate Licenses and Contracts in such Database. Collaborate with Corporate Legal and Compliance Manager concerning legal interpretations of Licensing.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for validation of all Software and Technology entitlements including expertise with respect to installation and use rights and conditions, license metrics and counting rules, virtualization and cloud concepts, and interpretation of any and all Software, Hardware, SaaS, ASP and Telecom license types.
• Responsible for creating license and contract information in Entitlements database and ensuring that all data is maintained as Entitlements are added, reduced or changed.
• Manages Software Maintenance renewals according to Supplier and Product calendar, including validation of current product use, support requirements, pricing and invoicing.
• Works with Suppliers to modify and validate maintenance renewals as appropriate.
• Supports Contract Managers with respect to Entitlement data, information required for negotiations, and/or contract management including ensuring all maintenance contracts are updated in Contract Database as maintenance is renewed, terminated or otherwise modified.
• Presents analyses, recommendations and results to senior management.
• Develops and manages relationship with assigned key suppliers to sustain thorough knowledge of current activity and prospective business opportunities Assists with financial modeling, validating and tracking IT budgets, accruals and maintenance for all in force technology contracts assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline or equivalent experience; 5-7 years of software licensing experience.
• Experience with e-Procurement and Entitlement systems preferred.
• Highly developed technology contract interpretation and contract management skills.
• Extensive understanding of software licensing models, types and concepts. Significant understanding of Contract Legal terms preferred.
• Knowledge of business operations, objectives, and strategies.
• Understands business trends in the IT industry. Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
• Thorough math skills and accounting practice skills.
• Proficient in the use of computer systems, personal computers and software such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
