The Role
As the Retirement Pricing Analyst, you will consult/analyze and deliver on more complex assignments/projects for assigned area(s) of responsibility. You will also act as a resource to applicable internal/external stakeholders. You will provide more complex pricing support to drive profitable sales and retention for your assigned product suite(s). You will also partner with key business areas to support standard and special pricing activities for new and existing business.
Responsibilities
Technical Agility
• Provides more complex pricing support to for retirement plans and stable value products to drive profitable growth of new business by working closely with key internal stakeholders and internal/external sales teams and/or their leaders
• Develops and maintains relevant databases of statistical data to evaluate characteristics of pricing activities and test scenarios for proposed changes in pricing strategies.
• Contributes to the design, build, modification and review of modeling tools
• Consults with key internal stakeholders to provide education and clarification of pricing concepts and applications
• Provide periodic report for valuation, accounting, corporate actuarial, ALM, marketing, investments, RPS management, and external consultants looking for ways to streamline processes and provide insight into key business trends and market risks
• Support the design of new product features, market positioning and adjacent businesses considering capital and profit implications
• Develop presentations, training materials, marketing pieces and other documentation for internal and external use
• Analyze various risk management strategies, changes in investment strategies, and the benefits and limitations of hedging strategies on product risk and profitability
• Prepares and performs actuarial analyses as needed for actuarial recommendations, new business initiatives, and reporting
• Maintains files of relevant assumptions, communications, pricing models, and quotes for reference, reporting, and analysis
• Provide administrative support for various product initiatives, maintaining strict controls and limiting operational risk
• Recommends and drives improvements of pricing models
• Contributes to training needs across business lines

• Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions
• Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives

• Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality

Requirements
Education
• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
Experience
• 3 - 5+ Years of experience in retirement pricing or related experience within the financial services industry that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities of this position
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures
• Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Apply concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions
• Works with mathematical concepts such as averages and/or variances
• Ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution
• Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Evaluate trends in data or information
• Ability to perform under stress in cases of emergency, critical or hazardous situations
