POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist/Business Partner will provide support for Corporate employees across Hub. Position will be located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood and will also remotely support employees across the US and Canada. Position will report into the Corporate HR Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• HR Business Partner support - Provide direct HR partner support to several corporate teams and leaders across HUB. This includes exposure to HUB’s executive leadership team members. Help address employee and manager questions directly and/or leverage HR shared services (payroll, recruiting, benefits, etc.) to provide guidance and/or support.
• Talent project support - Lead and participate in multiple talent initiatives to create and implement talent best practices across the corporate teams at HUB. These projects focus on all aspects of an employee’s lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, employee development, succession planning, and other aspects of an employee’s work experience.
• Employee Relations and advocacy- Assist managers and employees to resolve employee relations issues including coaching, researching/investigating situations and recommending solutions that address business needs.
• Data Analytics – collect, analyze, and communicate key data to leaders to facilitate educated and informed business decision making.
• Communication – Identify opportunities, develop, and/or collaborate with the Talent team to create material and content, and educate managers and employees about key talent processes and initiatives.
• Cross-Team collaboration – Work with HR field and corporate SME colleagues to deliver the best employee experience to our internal customers.
• Mergers and Acquisitions – support M&A activities as needed
• Community building and outreach – support local opportunities to build on our thriving community at HUB, including on site team building activities, community outreach (giving back), and support of our Healthy Habits initiatives.
• System updates and transactions – leverage HRIS and other systems to ensure transactions are approved and processed efficiently and in a timely manner. Follow through promptly on employee and leader requests.
REQUIREMENTS
• At least 3-5 years of generalist/HR Business partner experience including employee relations, project management, employee engagement and data analysis work.
• Experience working with key SME teams like payroll, benefits, compensation, and recruiting, to deliver strong support to employees and managers on a wide range of questions and concerns.
• Bachelor degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
• PHR certification is desirable.
• Experience in the insurance/financial services industry strongly preferred
• A solid understanding of state laws including California Labor Law and proficiency or a desire to learn about the HR legal requirements across the US and Canada is strongly preferred.
• Experience remotely supporting employees in multiple locations and countries is desirable.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency – Excel, PowerPoint, and Workday (HRIS) are essential.
• Experience keeping track of and processing multiple types of employee transactions across HRIS systems.
• Proven oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization
• Ability to be detail oriented and organized while reviewing, consolidating, and manipulating employee data.
• Strong project management skills and demonstrated opportunities to drive change initiatives in the organization
• Ability to influence business decisions using data analysis and analytics.
• Experience working in a fast paced environment with constantly changing business needs and demands.
