The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) Data Quality Control Manager oversees a team of HMDA Quality Control Auditors. This team reviews and validates HMDA data for all Residential and Commercial business lines that originate loans covered under HMDA. Reporting to the Compliance Manager of the group, you will be accountable for all aspects of the data management process. This includes ensuring completeness and accuracy of the HMDA data through data validation, maintaining/updating the department’s procedures and job aids, day-to-day management of work assignments and monthly production goals, reporting of the monthly audit results, and partnering with the 1st and 2nd line business partners to resolve any issues that may impact data integrity.
Major Responsibilities:
You are responsible for handling and watching HMDA data validation QC process. Perform quality control reviews of scrubbed data to ensure data is complete and accurate. Analyze quality control results to determine improvement opportunities within the team’s data validation process and business lines’ data gathering processes. You will monitor the status of any necessary business lines’ corrective actions. Maintain job aids, source document matrices, and procedures on the end-to-end process of data QC and validation. You will correct data errors found and remediate any root causes. You will prepare accurate monthly QC results report to business lines and team performance results report.
Keep up-to-date with regulatory changes to train staff, update processes and procedures to maintain HMDA compliance. Maintain effective working relationships with business groups in providing feedback, technical assistance, and subject matter expertise related to HMDA regulation. Provide technical expertise and support as needed to implement the changes to systems used by the team. Help with internal and external HMDA data integrity exams and reviews.
You will manage staff, hire, conduct performance management and reviews, promote, terminate, counsel/coach, and plan the staff‘s work. You will ensure staff complies with all wage and hour regulations. This includes reviewing employee timecards for accuracy and ensuring non-exempt staff takes all meal and rest breaks.
Qualifications
• Do you have a minimum of 5 years of experience in HMDA data management and reporting or leading lending regulatory compliance and/or testing, and 2 to 5 years of managerial and supervisory experience leading non-exempt staff?
• We're also looking for excellent interpersonal skills and extensive knowledge/understanding of mortgage origination data, process, and HMDA regulatory requirements.
• Excellent ability to analyze data, strong written and verbal communication skills to make recommendations effectively regarding complex HMDA regulatory requirement to line personnel and business line partners.
