Job Title:Director
Job Description:
The Tax Director will provide domestic and international tax compliance and reporting support for Blackstone’s Private Equity Funds. This individual will help implement best practices for compliance and reporting as well as:
• Performing and reviewing tax allocations of partnership income.
• Performing and reviewing tax provisions for corporations.
• Engaging in tax reporting for domestic and foreign investments.
• Ability to manage the tax reporting process and influence outcomes.
• Researching tax treatment of complex financial instruments and transactions.
• Gathering and analyzing complex financial information for purposes of tax reform, PFIC, CFCs, etc.
• Responding to tax authority requests & notices.
• Responding to Limited Partners' tax inquiries or ad-hoc requests.
• Reviewing tax procedures at domestic and international portfolio companies.
• Coordinating with financial reporting and tax advisors to ensure proper accounting of transactions.
• Supporting Finance team & liaise with other business units, as needed.
Qualifications:
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have
demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors as well as:
• 8-10 years of Big 4 tax experience with drawdown funds and private equity
• Must have understanding of private equity fund structures and complex partnership allocations
• Must have knowledge of investment fund tax accounting concepts; including partnership tax accounting, tax allocations, management and incentive fees.
• Must have relevant tax experience with a concentration in domestic partnerships. Corporate tax experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with complex data to drive decision-making.
• Highly organized and self-motivated, with follow-through on commitments.
• Effective verbal and written communicator.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic culture, with the ability to take initiative and be hands-on.
• Strong work ethic, responsiveness and passion for customer service and quality.
• Excellent team player and good interpersonal skills.
