If this sounds like the place for you - join the Ally Consumer and Commercial Banking Technology team as a Director of Technology Operations. As a Technology Director, you and your team will be responsible for supporting critical deposits application. You will lead a team that performs key maintenance and improvements to customer & business facing applications, ensuring those systems perform as expected. Additional duties include disaster recovery planning, implementation of proactive monitoring for critical applications & functions.
The Director will play a critical role in defining strategies for onboarding & implementation for ongoing and future projects. The responsibilities include participating in operational planning, leading the development of operational resources and collaborates with peers on succession tracks and recruiting new talents.
The role works across deposits functional area of the company to resolve customer issues, achieving high levels of customer & business satisfaction. The right candidate will be an empowered self-starter, familiar with working in a fast pace environment. The position will have the responsibility of working with business partners, technical support teams, development teams, and technology infrastructure teams.
Job Responsibilities
• Create an environment in which employees feel empowered and engaged with the work everyday
• Partner with Technology & Business teams to develop implementation and operational strategies to support applications and meet/exceed SLAs
• Develop operational service metrics with actionable plans to improve efficiency and optimize delivery
• Solve problems -- including the ability to identify key technical and business problems, develop and evaluate potential solutions, and select and implement those solutions
• Lead disaster recovery plans & event execution with internal and vendor teams
• Establish and follow incident response and break-fix triage process
• Lead and effectively manage high severity production incidents
• Review and track root cause analysis and preventative action items for high severity and reoccurring issues
• Ensure runbooks are in place that define day-to-day support, maintenance, troubleshooting processes for critical applications
• Provide mentorship and leadership to emerging talent within the organization
• Work with internal teams for Security Vulnerability Remediation
• Lead improvements to system / application performance and stability with ongoing and future projects
• Ability to manage teams working in multiple locations including overseas
Qualifications
• Proven track record of providing thought leadership in the technology area and applying technology to solve business problems
• Effective and professional oral and written communication skills; ability to translate detailed technical problems/solutions into easy to understand business terms
• Excellent problem-solving skills; Ability to ask the right questions and effectively diagnose the root cause of technical issues
• Experience with leading Fintech vendors and solutions
• Ability to work with all levels of an organization; Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills
• Familiarity with modern system integration and software development patterns and technologies, including AI based process automation, Cloud Engineering concepts, Dev Ops concepts, Rest APIs, etc
• Experience working Agile software development processes
• Experience with technology areas of Authentication, Biometrics, Machine learning, etc.
• Experience with Akamai and other security related products
• Experience working with and leading onshore and offshore teams
• Familiarity with service management and ITIL processes
• Collaborative and team focused; Eagerness to learn
• Ability to occasionally work off-hours / weekends
• 10+ years of professional experience; 4 year bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar fields
