Overview
Our Newburgh, NY office is currently seeking a Temporary (Seasonal) Administrative Assistant to join our team. The Administrative Assistant will provide tax processing support to the Tax Department and will interact daily with colleagues at all levels from staff to partners. This position will start on or before February 25, 2019 and end on or about April 15, 2019. Normal working hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday including occasional Saturday’s.
Essential Duties
• Scanning client documents based on document type and description for client tax returns.
• Assembling completed tax returns and related reports, delivering completed packages and updating the tracking system.
• Performing a self-review for completeness and accuracy of the instruction/information contained in the virtual folder.
• Assisting with the set-up of new client matters in the system.
• Providing backup administrative support for the tax department, as needed. This may include scanning documents, coordinating supplies order, filing and organizing tax returns, assisting with monthly extensions and/or assisting other offices with administrative tasks.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Flexible hours, starting at approximately 25 hours, for 1st 2 weeks, then 35-40 hours through April 15th. A Saturday in the last 2 weeks may be requested.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and turn around projects quickly.
• Excellent administrative and computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel) with ability to scan, file, collate and print documents.
• Prior experience processing tax returns is a plus.
• Dependable, reliable, and a strong attention to detail with the ability to self-review.
• Can do attitude and an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
