• Preparation of management reports and presentations on a monthly/quarterly basis, analyzing actual US GAAP results against Plan/Forecast and prior periods.
• Preparing reforecasts of results on a quarterly basis.
• Supporting the Head of FP&A in managing the Annual Plan Process.
• Taking lead role in developing management reports, including working with the team implementing a new SAP ledger to ensure FP&A management reporting requirements are met.
• Developing processes to support the production of quarterly results analysis.
• Working with other areas of Finance, including Controllership, Actuarial, Expense team and Investment Accounting, and other departments throughout the company, to ensure results analysis provides a comprehensive view of actual results and business trends.
• Developing monthly KPI package.
• Supporting Head of FP&A on ad hoc projects, which will be required as the company expands and management reporting requirements develop.
What we are looking for
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify unusual variances in results and drill into supporting general ledger accounts / workpapers, and work with others across the organization, to provide explanations.
• Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to maintain and modify complex spreadsheets used for analysis and reporting.
• Be proactive, detail oriented, focused on improving existing processes, willing to share ideas and recommendations and exhibit exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate sometimes complex Finance concepts, succinctly and accurately, across various levels, including senior leadership.
• Be able to manage large volumes of data in SAP, Databases and Excel and summarize key findings.
• Produce new management reports to meet the needs of senior management.
• Strong computer skills, preferably experience with SAP and analytics tools, such as Essbase; Advanced Standard Microsoft skills (especially Excel, Powerpoint).
• Able to work cross-functionally, at all levels and with all departments, in a complex organization.
• Strong process improvement skills, able to automate and streamline workflow, increase efficiency and transparency and strengthen controls to ensure the accuracy of data, developing greater opportunities to provide management with actionable analytics.
• Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced multi-company, multi-systems environment with minimal supervision, where reporting requirements and processes are not fully established, so you are expected to provide recommendations and implement enhancements.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA certification is preferred.
• 5+ years accounting and analysis experience required, preferably in insurance industry.
