The Information Research Center (IRC) is looking for a dynamic research professional to join its team.
Responsibilities
• Research, analyze and synthesize information to support business decisions at all levels of the organization.
• Perform ongoing rigorous research and evaluation of emerging trends in the market by identifying, highlighting and updating issues, threats and opportunities while developing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Assist in the management of a portfolio of third-party data services.
• Proactively interact with business and functional units to identify and coordinate information needs.
• Recommend research strategy and direction in area(s) of expertise.
• Maintain an understanding of current research tools, trends and data to promote new ideas to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
• BA/BS required. Masters preferred.
• Previous experience in business and finance research, insurance research or competitive intelligence a plus, including familiarity with LexisNexis, Factiva, Bloomberg, etc.
• Critical thinking skills and strong business acumen.
• Minimum 5 years of experience researching and interpreting data.
• Ability to apply various analytical frameworks and techniques.
• Experience with data visualization a plus.
• Must be able to respond effectively to research requests, demonstrating investigative and analytical skills as well as perseverance in locating obscure information.
• Experience with third party data sources and contract management.
• Adept at managing multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with decision-makers at different levels in the organization in a variety of functions.
• Must exhibit a natural curiosity to acquire a firm grasp of the organization and its environment. Must become knowledgeable about the organization’s businesses, its markets and its products to interpret information in context.
• Prior experience developing executive-level deliverables
• Proficient in utilization of technology to deliver information.
• Self-motivated, driven by a quest for continuous improvement.
• Team player, ability to lead and function cooperatively in a team environment is required.
• Detail-oriented and able to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities at one time.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
