Job Title Data Scientist, Consultant
What does a great Data Scientist do?
As a Data Scientist in our Card Services business unit you will play an integral role in a variety of analyses to support strategic business objectives. You will be responsible for generating actionable insights using data analytics, modeling, forecasting and statistical techniques for a variety of projects. You will work and support other special projects with the Strategic Analytics team, other business units and subject matter experts to build and support a data driven culture at Fiserv Card Services.
As a Data Scientist, you can look forward to:
• Analyzing client, market and operational data to identify revenue optimization opportunities. Recommend strategies and tactics to target market opportunities. Executes analytical analysis through gathering, manipulating and analyzing large amounts of data.
• Conducting competitive analyses, tracking industry volume shifts and performing other ad-hoc analyses as required.
• Interacting with multiple business areas to gather and interpret business requirements and deliver data-based solutions.
• Provides business reporting by aggregating complex data structures across multiple platforms into concise presentation quality deliverables.
• Providing recommendations that use data results to drive revenue of ongoing and future initiatives.
• Assisting in the systematic collection, organization and retention of performance-related data to measure performance across multiple KPI’s.
• Leading and participating in projects that require advanced data and business analysis skills including best in practice methodologies and modeling.
• Forecasting key metrics, as well as developing and maintaining models for other business units.
• Working both independently and in a team to provide strategic and tactical, data driven solutions and recommendations to senior leadership.
Basic qualifications for consideration:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or other Sciences with a focus on data analytics.
• 5 years’ experience in Data Analytics.
• Previous experience in the Financial Services industry and an understanding of debit payments or debit/credit card brands preferred.
• Showed strength with statistical packages such as SAS or R.
• Showed skill of multiple reporting techniques such as Tableau or Excel.
• Have an analytical mindset and an ability to review and interpret data quickly.
• Technical skillset to include SQL, Python or other tools for data compilation and analysis.
• Ability to travel 15%
Preferred qualifications for consideration:
• Alteryx experience
• Experience building relational database
• Strong ability to analyze data or reports to articulate the key drivers to the business owner or leadership
• Business research, business writing, and advanced presentation development skills experience.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills, strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Confirmed ability to understand complex business and technical concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
