In this key operating role, this business executive position is accountable for coordinating a broad range of activities for the Technology and Operations group. Manage approximately ~50-75 employees. Accountable for creating an exciting and energizing environment focused on its people, processes, and technologies, during a period of tremendous growth, integration, and change; leading with a balanced approach to quality, risk, and cost; driving efficiency and effectiveness throughout the organization; building a strong bench of future leaders. Use strategic and customer-centric approach to building capacity for future growth. Support the integrations of technology and operations groups from recent and future acquisitions, and build the appropriate linkages, communications and processes with the parent company, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi (BTMU). Identify, manage, and mitigate risk.
Major Responsibilities:
Accountable executive supporting quality strategic delivery for Technology and Operations including key control and support activities:
• Provide structure and oversight across ISA for each team to build and maintain Standards, Processes and Methods to assure Quality, Control and Compliance Provide reporting standards and templates and provide aggregated ISA wide reporting on appropriate KPI, KRI etc.
• Build and maintain comprehensive and accessible Books of Record for all Technology Suppliers and Supplier Delivery Commitments (Internal /External).
• Build and maintain roles, responsibilities and interaction models.
• Drive overall employee engagement development and communication programs as well as community outreach.
• Aggregate all portfolio tracking and reporting.
• Manage vendor risk assessment, ongoing vendor monitoring and tracking.
• Manage control office for technology and operations.
• Lead and motivate a distributed, diverse work force through direct and indirect reports, developing and retaining the human resources necessary to achieve business results.
• Provide direction, set goals and ensure that various areas manage toward overall department objectives.
• Resolve escalated issues and problems by conferring with staff and other internal departments and others.
• Improve Technology and Operations Business Management and Fiscal Efficacy through process standardization and harmonization.
• Support Technology and Operations needs across standard costing, allocations, SLA, benchmarking, and geographic optimization.
• Coordinate and support Transformation activities across ISA (Lighthouse).
• Assure appropriate awareness and response to Regulatory, Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, Audit activities, findings and directives, as needed.
• Support disaster recovery and contingency programs and processes in alignment with Technology groups, as needed.
• Ensure all internal risk practices, strategies and policies are adhered to and communicated throughout all operating groups, and that all staff understands and apply bank operating policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for activities within the division, particularly, BSA/AML.
• Ensure the development and operationalization of standards, policies and processes to identify, report and mitigate operational risk exposures within the business.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and 10-15 years related technology experience with significant people management responsibilities; experience with integration resulting from acquisitions, mergers and consolidation.
• Strong leadership and people management skills to build a cohesive team of members capable of succession to more senior roles. Evidence of coaching, mentoring and developing team members.
• Broad understanding of the US regulatory environment and Federal Reserve regulations.
• Strong management, organizational and evaluative process skills. Ability to analyze complex organizational and technical issues related to technology and identifies opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive business relationships with internal partners and external vendors.
• Effective negotiation and influencing skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills.
• External customer experience combined with a solid understanding of creating customer engagement.
