Opportunity Overview
This position has a broad scope of responsibility for accomplishing core/critical technical or significant operational functions, including interpreting complex information and making subjective decisions that have substantial risk or that may have legal, regulatory or financial implications. Decisions must ensure collaboration with a variety of business areas across the organization. The position is required to have a deep understanding of rules & regulations and the impact they have on the business area functions, systems, and controls; along with identifying inherent and potential risks including implementation of recommendations to mitigate them.
Position Requirements
• 2-5 years of industry or position-related experience concentrated in Financial Services Operations
• 1-2 years of exposure to project management leading small to medium scale efforts
• Series 7, 66 required within 12 months of start date
• An advanced knowledge of internal and external processes, procedures, and systems associated with multiple functions in a department or group of departments
• Strong analytical skills required with proficiency in creating complex spreadsheets and formulas, advanced skills running Hyperion queries creating and analyzing reports, using internet reference material and external resources to proactively develop measures, make decisions or to manage ongoing controls for the business area.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required as the position will facilitate group meetings and will be responsible for some project communications
• Must have strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and handle a heavy workload in order to be able to fulfill all the roles within the department
• Must be able to quickly develop an understanding of the upstream/downstream impacts to other departments and divisions within the firm. At times may need to make reasonable judgment calls related to processes or procedures and content of projects with little or no leader involvement
• Understand the firm's supervisory controls and procedures, and utilize software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, database tools, and query tools and languages such as Hyperion and SQL to identify trends, correlations, and assist business areas with trading or regulatory investigations
