Description
The Long Term Care (LTC) actuarial team is seeking a motivated individual to join our data, analytics, and tools team. The candidate will support our business unit pricing and experience analysis teams through tool development and analytics, under the guidance of managers with substantial experience in LTC, and expertise in tool and processes development. The role will also get to work closely with other LTC functions (e.g., actuarial Centers of Excellence, finance and operations) to support a more robust overall understanding of the business, including experience related to expectations, drivers of that experience, and expected future trends.
In addition, the candidate will partner with our Third Party Administrator to implement rate increases by creating and maintaining tools to help drive increases in speed and efficiency of implementation, which has a direct bottom line result to Prudential. The candidate will get to develop a deep understanding of both the group and individual LTC product, and become a go-to person for ad hoc requests and out of the ordinary questions.
The candidate will join a team focused on the attention to detail required to produce thorough documentation and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables, and as such must exhibit these same qualities. He or she should have a strong knowledge of Access/Excel and good analytical and mathematical skills, in addition to comfort in working with large data sets.
Location: Newark, NJ Gateway office; Dresher, PA office.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Passed a minimum 2 actuarial exams
• 1 or more years of actuarial experience required
• LTC product knowledge and experience is preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience in MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, and Visual Basic.
• Ability to work independently and drive results
• Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• High level of self-motivation and ownership of results
