Position Description
The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the development of a robust pricing peer review process as well as playing a major role in the reserving function at Ally Insurance. The Analyst will have responsibilities relating to loss reserve and/or unearned premium reserve testing, data analytics, continuous process improvement and developing their analytic and communication skills and helping others do the same.The Analyst will be responsible for communicating and working collaboratively across multiple departments throughout the organization.
Job Responsibilities
• Assist in developing a robust pricing peer review process
• Develop loss reserve and/or unearned premium reserve indications and communicate them to department and senior leadership as appropriate
• Work collaboratively as a part of inter and intra departmental teams
• Develop and communicate business analytics to department and senior leadership as appropriate
• Foster innovation within the team and across the broader organization
• Develop in an actuarial capacity and according to Ally vision and mission statement
Qualifications
• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, economics, finance, mathematics, risk management, statistics, or related field
• Completion of at least 1 CAS/SOA exam required; 2-4 desired
• Strong skills in MS Excel; knowledge of SAS or R is a plus
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• High level of problem solving and critical thinking capabilities
• Well-organized and detail-oriented
• Strong work ethic
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis
