We are currently looking for a Zurich SIU (Special Investigation Unit) Claims Fraud Investigator to join our Special Investigations Unit.
In this role the Claims Fraud Investigator will be responsible for but not limited to:
• Professional investigator who is a self-motivated and can work independently in a fast paced environment with moderate direct supervision.
• Logical and sequential thinker.
• Proven investigative expertise to detect fraud, limit exposure, or protect company assets.
• Ability to efficiently analyze, summarizes, and prioritizes technical information into actionable investigative strategies.
• Ability to apply the techniques of critical thinking to dismantle complex problems and reasoning through to its logical conclusion.
• Be familiar with Local, State, and Federal statutes to insure investigations are carried out within the requirements of applicable law.
• Act as a liaison with NICB, Department of Insurance Investigators, and Local, State, & Federal Law Enforcement.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (liaison) on fraud or investigations to business and industry partners.
• Ability to apply rules of evidence; recognize evidence, and determine its value to the overall claims investigation.
• Ability to provide training to internal and external customers regarding counter-fraud strategies and indicators of suspected insurance fraud.
• Ability to testify in both criminal and civil court proceedings regarding investigative findings.
• Conflict management skills to deal with crisis situations, hostile witnesses, etc.
In addition, this Claims Fraud Investigator will, under general direction and with moderate limits and authority conduct the investigation(s) of suspected fraud and varying degrees of complex cases. Plus, will be responsible for delivering high quality and professional investigation reports with decisive conclusions and technically excellent content to ensure that all claims fraud risks are effectively and efficiently governed and managed.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in Investigations with a law enforcement agency area or Claims/Special Investigation Unit
OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in Investigations with a law enforcement agency area or Claims/Special Investigation Unit.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of regulations and statutes in the territory to be assigned
• Knowledge of claims process
• Microsoft Office skills
