Responsibilities
Job Summary
AllianceBernstein’s Request for Proposal (RFP) team is in search of an RFP writer to play an integral role in business development and client service efforts through the completion of RFP, RFI, and due diligence requests for AllianceBernstein’s US Retail Platform of Funds. This writer will specialize in writing RFPs and Due Diligence Questionnaires for our US Retail 1940 Act and Separately Managed Accounts (SMA) fund offerings, while also contributing, where needed, to the completion of other projects and requests. The writer will work primarily with our US Retail sales advisors and Associates as well with our firm’s Product Managers and Portfolio Managers to support our US Funds Platform (both new business development and client servicing) through well-written and effective RFPs, Onboarding Questionnaires, and ongoing Due Diligence Questionnaires. This position is located in our Nashville office and reports to Sara Kellersman.
Job Description
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Write RFPs, RFIs, and Due Diligence Questionnaires for US mutual funds and Separately Managed Account (SMA) Strategies. Compile and maintain RFP-related data and information for our US Retail and SMA platform, such as performance attribution and operational/onboarding requirements.
• Maintain consistency and quality of language and data in RFP Language database and on 25+ consultant and third-party databases.
• Work directly with Portfolio Managers, Research Heads, Traders, Operations staff, and others to update existing RFP language and develop new language.
• Customize final documents to reflect a nuanced response to the specific opportunity.
• Handle follow-up work associated with RFPs moving to the next phase: coordinating answers, additional information, etc.
• Oversee production of final proposals (formatting, technical editing and reproduction).
• Field ad-hoc questions from associates, advisors, and RFP generalists daily as needed.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications & Key Attributes
The ideal candidate should have:
• Knowledge of US mutual funds and the asset management industry.
• Prior experience with retail Home Office relationships, as well as operational components of 1940 Act Funds and SMAs, is preferred.
• Excellent and highly productive writer of technical investment material.
• Demonstrated desire and ability to learn technical info, including philosophy, research and investment processes of our products.
• Knowledge of GIPS regulations, Composite requirements, and FINRA and other Fund marketing regulations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent project management and organizational skills; able to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks to ensure that all assignments are completed in a timely manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a large global organization.
• Demonstrated initiative and good judgment as well as the ability to work well under pressure and with time constraints.
• Interest in and ability to interact directly and effectively with Sales Advisors, Portfolio Managers and other investment professionals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, and possess the ability to quickly master internal systems and applications.
• College education required. 3-5 years of RFP and industry experience preferred. Direct experience writing RFPs for retail funds a significant plus.
