Job Description:
The New York based International team works with the major capital markets teams across the US in marketing major investment sales across all sectors, raising JV equity, and the sale of loan positions. The team also seeks to independently originate JV equity raising opportunities from domestic landlords and investment sales from overseas landlords, across all US markets.
Candidates must have the ability to articulate fundamental concepts, practices and procedures associated with commercial real estate investment, including investment analysis, market analysis and appraisal.
The work environment is fast-paced and demanding and requires evening and weekend work at times. Given international client coverage / time zone differences, the candidate must be prepared to make time available for early morning and late evening telephone calls. Ability to work within a team structure and to meet tight deadlines is required.
Essential Job Duties:
• Execute all processes and tasks associated with marketing and executing investment sales, raising JV equity and marketing loan positions to investors outside of the United States
• Preparation of team offering materials, pitchbooks and team collateral decks
• Maintenance of team databases and execution processes associated with investment sales product / debt positions and JV equity raising
• Directly liaise with local Newmark Knight Frank capital markets teams, international Knight Frank capital markets teams, overseas clients and domestic clients
• Coordinate marketing efforts and weekly marketing update schedules / associated materials
• Gather property specific & market information by researching a variety of industry sources
• Maintain detailed records of international investors and their investment requirements.
• Perform continuous market research of the changing universe of international investors
• Review financial models for hotel, office, retail, industrial and multi-family properties
• Willingness to take part in domestic and international travel, as position evolves
• Other job duties as needed based on transaction assignment and team structure
Skills, Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in geography, urban planning, marketing, or business administration
• Minimum of 2-3 years related professional experience. Commercial Real Estate, Investment Banking/Finance, International Commerce related experience a plus
• Proficient in Argus
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret investment materials and legal documents
• Thrives in a team-oriented setting while working independently with limited day-to-day supervision
• Self-starter and strategic thinker with a track record of working from a blank slate in creating marketing strategies and plans for initiatives
• Superior organization skills and composure: ability to handle competing priorities and to work effectively in a challenging fast paced environment
• Willingness to take part in domestic and international travel
• Intermediate knowledge of PC applications such as MS-Excel, MS-Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
