The NexTech Internship Program at First Horizon is an exciting opportunity for someone who craves the prospect of innovation and wants to influence the digital experiences for the future of the financial services industry. We seek an independent thinker and problem-solver with a demonstrated interest in digital technologies. The NexTech internship program is available to help students gain real-world experience in the work force by supporting the Enterprise Technology team in software, hardware and all other technological tasks and issues. Working as an intern with First Horizon will provide hands on experience in the world of technology in financial services.
This Internship will provide:
• Knowledge of the company’s First Power culture, vision and mission statements
• A broader perspective on how First Horizon services the community and region as a whole.
• The opportunity to participate in and/or lead the completion of assigned, short-term projects
• requested by managers
• The opportunity to acquire specific skills that are needed to achieve professional goals and aspirations.

Internship Responsibilities May Include:
• Work within a team to develop creative solutions to business opportunities.
• Supports and plans work on small projects with direction from management.
• Assists management and other department personnel to support larger projects (e.g., managing project schedule and status reporting).
• Works with various departments and/or vendors to gather information needed for various projects.
• Presents project results to management and/or department personnel.
• Performs analytical work within the assigned functional area.
• Conducts research using the internet and other sources of information.
• Creates or updates systems or databases for specific department needs.
• May assume the duties normally performed in the department, alongside professionals who perform these roles.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
• Must be in pursuit of a degree in computer science, information technology or engineering.
• Some education in programming, database management and technologies like MS SQL, Exchange, Access and .Net frameworks.
• Must take direction well and be motivated self-starters.
• Must be open and excited to learn new technologies.
• Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations.
• Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
• Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.
