At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Work with both technical (i.e. Data Scientists) and business stakeholders to understand data needs for projects and document.
Support research and develop statistical learning and Machine Learning models or visualizations for data analysis.
Support implementation new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis.
Attend requirement sessions when necessary, and develop requirements communicating any concerns to project leadership.
Support unit and functional testing of infrastructure and models
Collaborate with Product Management to understand Business needs and devise possible solutions.
Research and experiment with emerging technologies and tools related to Big Data.
Perform any of the following as needed: requirement analysis, data profiling, effort estimation for database and Hadoop ecosystem design and development.
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
Qualifications
Coding Background – around R, Python, Java
Knowledge around the Hadoop ecosystem such as MapReduce, HDFS, Hive, Apache Nifi, Zeppelin, Spark, Sqoop, Oozie, Pig, Python, Pyspark, Elastic Search, or SOLR – Lucene.
Strong communication skills: ability to be well-organized, clear and concise in conversations and written communications.
Experience using the Hadoop ecosystem and ability to design, develop and test the ETL pipelines using Python, Java and other related technologies.
Experience with Agile/Scrum is preferred.
Ability to deal with structured and unstructured data sets
Experience in delivering quality work on time with multiple, competing priorities.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to interface with development team members, business analysts, and project management.
3-4 years of relevant experience
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
