Role/Responsibilities
Position objective is to provide leadership over consolidated P&L planning, reporting and analysis processes.
Functional Responsibilities
• Responsible for coordinating and consolidating the annual budget and strategic plans as well as quarterly forecasts, developing related analysis to support senior management decision making
• Responsible for developing Board-level reporting to capture business, capital and strategic initiatives
• Manage periodic P&L actual/budget/forecast variance analysis during the monthly/quarterly close processes and act on results to assist in effective business management
• Contribute to strategic reviews of compensation programs
• Oversee forecast modeling, accounting accruals and reporting for existing formulaic compensation programs
• Lead process improvements including data management as well as the enhancement/future state design and development of planning systems, processes and reporting
• Work with the accounting teams to ensure integrity and relevance of management accounts
• Participate in special projects as assigned by Finance management
• Work closely with the senior management team on strategic operating issues, long-term strategies and profit goals through the development and implementation of financial and strategic planning
• Ensure close coordination across several different lines of business, technology and finance stakeholders
• Create executive presentations used for business updates to both the senior management team and key business partners across MCO
Scope/Supervision and Interaction
• Broad interaction with finance, business and shared services stakeholders across levels and divisions
• Manage team of on- and off-shore resources to deliver on stated objectives
• Make decisions appropriate for level of responsibility, raises concerns to the appropriate level of management and keeps management informed of activities
• Present management with the recommendations for resolving key and complex issues.
Required Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business discipline
• MBA, CPA, graduate degree and/or other relevant professional qualification a plus
Key Competencies
• Proven ability to manage projects including:
◦ Strategic planning processes
◦ Larger projects involving project teams (who are not direct reports) and steering committees
• Experience leading, supervising and mentoring analysts
• Experience presenting in executive-level management meetings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable with both quantitative and qualitative analysis, ability to leverage data to inform business decisions
• Operates with a sense of urgency, ability to work under tight and sometimes competing priorities
• Experienced with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Experience working with proprietary planning and reporting tools; ability to utilize systems functionality, extract data and manipulate to support reporting and planning processes
