YOUR ROLE
The Workforce Analyst role offers an exciting, newly created manager level opportunity to be part of a dynamic Global HR team focused on enhancing Genworth culture, capabilities, performance, productivity, and profitability through its people. In this role, you will help provide insights across the employee lifecycle by leveraging data to help the business serve the company’s most valuable asset: its employees. You will gather actionable research questions tied to business needs, collect and analyze talent data, develop robust reporting solutions, correlate talent data with business performance, provide actionable recommendations, and advise stakeholders using insights from research/analytics.
Research and analysis will include topics such as diversity, inclusiveness, culture, talent acquisition,
retention, turnover, promotion trends, employee engagement, demand forecasting, individual & team performance, succession planning, training & development, total rewards, and workforce demographics.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and implement effective and easy to understand people reporting solutions (i.e. dashboards, metrics, reports) to meet business needs, including development of people-related models and forecasts.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in people-related services, implementing solutions across the employee lifecycle and collaborating effectively with key stakeholders.
• Synthesize workforce analyses and develop recommendations to influence business solutions. Connect analyses to strategic issues to support a compelling argument for action.
• Leverage both quantitative and qualitative data, including employee survey results, to enable leaders to dig deep into the company’s cultural dynamics.
• Support cross-functional analytics projects with the ability to work independently and as part of a team as needed.
• Apply advanced data programming skills (SQL, Python, R, Java, C++, or similar languages) to query, mine, and structure data for the purposes of process automation, data discrepancy identification, and report development.
• Use advanced statistics and tools to ensure analytics are meaningful, rigorous, and provide actionable and comprehensive insights.
• Partner with the HR team and business leaders to help them answer ad-hoc questions and make data-driven decisions.
• Establish strong partnerships within the businesses and HR team to provide best practices/new practices and insights for how analytics can drive more meaningful decisions.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Statistics, Math, Finance, Computer Science. Business or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting data and analytics projects including developing user-friendly reports, short and long-term workforce forecasts, and integrated dashboards.
• 5+ years of data programming experience in SQL, Python, R, Java, C++, or similar languages.
• 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic Application (VBA), and Microsoft programming automation.
• 3+ years of experience visualizing HR data and communicating complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• 3+ years of experience using common statistical software (SPSS, SAS, Angoss, etc.) and visual software packages (eg. Tableau, Spotfire, etc.).
• Well versed in predictive modelling tools and analytics.
• Critical thinker with demonstrated creative problem-solving skills.
• High level of initiative with a drive for process improvement with the ability to prioritize work effectively.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working with HR management systems (Workday HCM strongly preferred).
• Experience with Agile methodologies and machine learning.
• Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or related field.
