Position Purpose:
The Disaster Recovery (DR) Analyst will assist the DR Team Lead in working to develop and maintain Disaster Recovery Plans and the Disaster Recovery program for INTL FCStone. Tasks include, but are not limited to, developing Information Technology (IT) Disaster Recovery plans and performing Disaster Recovery support functions throughout the year. In addition to planning, the DR Analyst will be involved in Incident Management, Crisis Management, and the planning/executing of ongoing simulation/exercise and maintenance processes. This position will work collaboratively with numerous business facing departments across multiple locations - including IT, Security, Operations, Compliance and Legal.
Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
• Develop IT Disaster Recovery Plans - Work collaboratively with Information Technology subject matter experts to document system applications and their supporting infrastructure in order to develop appropriate recovery plans.
• Ensure the company is prepared to recover key IT Systems in the event of a disaster.
• Build and improve Information technology disaster recovery processes and incorporate best practices using internal and external sources.
• Coordinate and facilitate disaster recovery exercises and training for members of response and recovery teams.
• Develop and maintain the Communication Plan for DR Exercises and/or real recovery for IT.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of incident response and recovery plans and coordinate with Business Continuity to identify Disaster Recovery requirements based on enterprise-wide business impact analysis.
• Capture and maintain evidence of lessons learned for audit reporting purposes. Ensure that issues are prioritized, documented, and closed out within specified days of discovery.
• Provide training and guidance to subject matter experts on Disaster Recovery tools, templates, and methodology for plan development.
• Work collaboratively with Business Continuity and process owners to align IT disaster recovery plans with business needs.
• Work with leadership to build and manage the DR program. This includes assisting in the development and maintenance of all enterprise Disaster Recovery policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Be able to to communicate, negotiate, and present options for various Disaster Recovery site alternatives.
• Manage contractual agreements for disaster recovery services including request for proposals.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts and/or platform managers to ensure that contracted services are in place and align with current requirements.
• Work with Disaster Recovery software used for document rendering and validate that all critical recovery information is current and maintained in supported DR tools. Utilize and assist in the customization of Business Continuity Planning and Emergency Notification software.
• Facilitate/coordinate quarterly reviews, updates, and signoffs to ensure completion of critical recovery documentation of infrastructure consistent with approved corporate policies, standards, and procedures. Follow up on signoffs to validation that all critical backups are scheduled and completed.
• Work collaboratively with IT personnel (e.g. Enterprise Infrastructure & Applications Teams) to track and remediate issues identified during annual Disaster Recovery exercises. Manage and complete internal and external audit requests.
• Assist with Incident Management events and communication both internally and externally.
• Assist in managing recovery during a disaster or incident as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the Business Continuity department to perform general Business Continuity Planning/Disaster Recovery functions including:
◦ Perform Risk Assessments (RA) as needed.
◦ Develop recovery strategies for all company departments across multiple locations globally.
◦ Build the Disaster Recovery technology plans and deliver ongoing support (maintenance) monthly.
◦ Perform Incident Management and Crisis Management functions as needed.
◦ Assist with DR project related support, develop awareness programs, and deliver Disaster Recovery training.
◦ Lead in planning and executing the annual Disaster Recovery/Disaster Recovery simulations and exercises.
◦ Assist in meeting and exceeding audit/compliance regulation expectations.
◦ Perform on call duties.
• Additional support functions as assigned.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the Information Technology field.
• Minimum 3-5 years direct experience in building Disaster Recovery plans is desired.
• Skills and experience in developing business impact analysis, risk assessments, recovery strategies, process flow and dependency mapping required.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills with the drive to create a plan and meet deadlines.
• Ability to interact and work effectively with employees across all locations within the organization.
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook).
• Basic understanding of networking and servers.
• ABCP, CBCP or MBCP preferred.
• Experience with ISO standards, SOX, FINRA, and Compliance rules and regulations knowledge desired.
• Ability to travel is required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with individuals across the US and globally.
