Senior Accountant II
Financial Reporting has an excellent opportunity open for a Sr. Accountant looking to work for a highly successful St. Louis based company. In this position, you will work in a variety of different capacities, including (but not limited to) the monthly close cycle, creation of financial statements, financial reporting, financial planning, general ledger account reconciliations, special projects, and more.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with an outstanding work ethic, and looking to advance their career to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain business relationships and partnerships with key business owners and stakeholders throughout the division and firm.
• Understand the roles, responsibilities, and activities performed by other organizational departments (e.g., Financial Advisor Compensation, Human Resources, Payroll, Canada Finance, etc.); understand the interrelationship among organizational departments; have ability to collaborate across functional and organizational lines.
• Participate in and/or lead cross functional teams responsible for implementing Finance or departmental business objectives and projects.
• Analyze, document, and monitor business processes. Identify and implement process and control improvements where needed.
• Proactively identify high risk issues, formulate recommendations, and play key role in implementing solutions.
• Inform and educate other business areas as to the financial impact of potential business decisions they are responsible for making.
• Reconcile and review general ledger, customer, and/or firm accounts and transactions. Review of reconciliations and transactions performed by others.
• Prepare, summarize, and present firm financial reports and analysis. Identify trends and present recommendations to Senior Leadership in order to influence decision making.
• Assist with the firm financial planning process, including the trimester Bonus Model, the Annual Plan, Outlook, and the 5-Year Plan.
• Lead or support system design, documentation, testing, and implementation to ensure functional business area requirements are met.
• Train new Finance associates within the department, as well as key business partners within and outside the division.
• Review of financial reports, and other work performed by others.
Position Requirements
Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA certification, or working towards certification, is strongly preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance or related field is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
• Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials is a plus.
