Position Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist
Department: Human Resources
Grade: 16
Position Summary: The Senior Human Resources Generalist has overall responsibility to support assigned branches and/or departments with all human resources related functions.
Major Responsibilities:
• Provides advice to managers/supervisors regarding performance management, compensation, discipline, employment selection, leave administration, employee benefits, general working conditions, work related injuries and other human resources related issues.
• Responsible for assigned individual duties, such as payroll management, administration of benefits, workers compensation, etc.
• Responsible for advising employees regarding Bank approved personnel policies and procedures.
• Responsible for assisting managers/supervisors with coaching and counseling.
• Acts as liaison between Bank and branch/dept. managers/supervisors.
• Maintains a current understanding of state and federal employment law including but not limited to Wage and Hour law, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, discrimination laws, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) regulations, Sexual Harassment, Family and Medical Leave, California Family Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Employee Safety and Workers’ Compensation.
• Maintains files for various responsibilities.
• Responsible for recommending updates and changes to Human Resources policies (Employee Handbook, Supervisor’s Handbook, etc.).
• Responsible for updating job descriptions.
• May supervise other Human Resources personnel (Human Resources Assistant, Payroll Processor, Payroll Specialist, etc.).
Other Responsibilities:
• Provides telephone and written verifications of employment for UI, SDI as needed.
• Performs other work-related duties and projects as assigned.
Education, Experience, And Other Skills Required:
• High school diploma or GED required, undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field, preferred.
• 5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to utilize personal computers and Windows driven programs.
