General Summary
General Summary
A Senior Licensing Specialist will handle processing for all Corporate, Branch and Individual licensing for the states assigned to them and will function in a lead role. The Senior Licensing Specialist will manage the on-boarding and offboarding of new hires related to licensing (branch and loan officer licensees), and coordinate processes with various departments to ensure compliance and communication.
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary job duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
• Effectively provide professional internal and external communication whether written or verbal.
• Continues to stay abreast of underwriting and compliance guidelines
• A team player who actively seeks training opportunities, solutions to various underwriting issues and shares best practices with all team members.
• Is proactive in updating all involved after new documents are uploaded or status changes occur
• Provides follow-up on a consistent basis with originators, borrowers, and agents to complete processing
Responsible for maintaining a leadership role including but not limited to the sharing of best practices with other processors in the branch.
• Developing and maintaining checklists, process improvement opportunities and other tasks aimed at improving customer experience. Although not always the case, in some instances this would include the management of 1 or more processors in the branch, at the Branch Manager's discretion.
• Responsible for timely processing of Convention, FHA, VA mortgage loan applications in compliance with Bank and investor requirements.
• Collect and review loan documents to satisfy loan conditions. Ensure completeness of mortgage loan documentation and meet depart service and quality standards. Prepare the loan file for underwriting review. Prepare mortgage loan file by reviewing loan application; clarifying and obtaining additional information. Confirm 1003 information by mailing verification forms; contacting verification sources.
• Validate loans in automated underwriting systems including DU and LP and submit to underwriting
• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely loan data on processing system. Review exception reports to ensure all tasks are completed and Loan is on target to meet expected closing
• date.
• Proactive communication of loan status to the borrower and the Loan Officer.
• This is an unlicensed position with no access to originate loans.

Qualifications
Listed below are the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform this role. These qualifications are necessary for someone to be considered for this position.
Qualifications include:
• Five years related experience as a processor, underwriter or equivalent.
• Thorough working knowledge of real estate documentation, underwriting policies, compliance, and procedures.
• High level of proficiency with mortgage loan processing and underwriting systems.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, multi-tasking and analytical skills
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Acute attention to detail
• Proficient on Desktop Underwriting and Loan Prospector
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple loans and meet closing dates
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
• Demonstrated ability to pre underwrite a loan file
• Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
