The Internal Audit team is a strategic partner with the business units and stakeholders enhancing and protecting Baird’s organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. The Internal Audit intern performs assigned reviews, assists auditors with analysis and research, and is an integral part of the internal audit recommendation follow-up process.
Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
Located in our Milwaukee, WI office, interns must be flexible to work part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the school year, and full-time (37.5-40 hours/week) during the summer. Must attend a local Milwaukee University to allow for a year-round internship.
As an Internal Audit Intern, you will:
• Assist staff with conducting testing for various audit, consulting and special projects for the Firm’s business divisions and their departments
• Facilitate the internal audit recommendation follow-up process, including working with clients to track, document, and test implemented items
• Facilitate the customer complaint analysis process, including working with the Legal Department and an outside service provider
• Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned
What we look for:
• Accounting or Finance major or related degree, with a minimum GPA of 3.2; May 2020 or later graduation date
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet specific deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and reliability with a drive for continuous improvement
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
