JOB SUMMARY
This position is housed in a face-paced production environment and supports commercial loan processing, verification, and documentation delivery. This includes researching and assembling the supporting documentation and verification of all required information needed for data analysis and all other processing functions that may be required in conjunction with all commercial loan transactions delivered by Chemical Bank lending channels; includes research, analysis, and problem resolution of advanced and complex commercial loan related issues. Independently works with commercial lenders across the bank, with a high degree of collaboration.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1 - 3 Years Experience in Function
• 3 - 5 Years Experience in Industry
• Sharp critical thinking skills are required to effectively trouble-shoot moderate to complex loan issues
• Strong background in understanding and interpreting credit policy, credit authority levels, loan structures, lien positions and entity structures
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail with solid time management skills and a well-developed ability to multitask
• Working knowledge of MS Office & Outlook, Bankway, LaserPro and other document systems a strong plus
• Excellent and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• A solid customer service mentality - for this position, basic “customer service skills” are not adequate as customer service is paramount to the success of our team
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
• Analyze moderate to complex commercial loan requests (including new money, renewals, modifications and extensions) to validate appropriate lending authority, covenants, terms and conditions are in accordance with credit policy guidelines, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Complete all required due diligence such a detailed review of entity documentation, flood determination, property tax search, title requirements, appraisal, UCC’s searches, etc., are properly conducted and approved.
• Ensure that any exceptions are addressed at or prior to clear to close approval, and any waivers or deviations from policy are properly documented within the electronic documentation file.
• Create and deliver accurate loan documentation in a timely manner while ensuring that the final package correctly incorporates the terms of the credit approval document, as well as internal and regulatory credit and policy standards.
• Ensure that loan packages prepared by outside counsel meet the same documentary standards as our internally prepared document packages.
Customer Service
• Develop and maintain a strong, interactive and effective partnership with commercial business partners and teammates.
• Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, and most especially when dealing with outside vendors, title agents, attorney, and other professionals.
